I tried to order this t-shirt in time to wear to the Austin City Limits Music Festival a couple of weeks ago, but it didn’t get here until after the festival.
I wore it last night when Greg, Brad, Roberts, and myself all went to Pluckers to watch the ‘Stros game.
Texas might be a true-blue Bush state, but Austin is decidedly more liberal than any where else in the state. Which is why I wore my t-shirt to this popular college hang out. I was feeling a bit antagonistic.
I was standing at the packed bar waiting for the other guys to show up (stupid policy about not seating you until your entire party has arrived). It’s obvious when people are reading your t-shirt, and even more obvious who they’re voting for based on their reactions and expressions.
Granted, nobody who disagrees with the message ever says anything to me about it because…frankly, I’m a big guy. And I look like I might hit you. For the fun of it.
One of the hippie-smelling kids that waits tables at the wing joint walked by me several times, reading my t-shirt on each pass. Finally, after the third pass, he stopped and asked, “I’m a liberal, and I don’t get your t-shirt. Is it a slam or a compliment?” (He didn’t really need to start with “I’m a liberal”…the stench of patchouli dripping off of him was stronger than Plucker’s Fire-in-the-hole wing sauce). I answered him in six short words: Neutered cat? I slowly enunciated as I pointed at each word on my t-shirt (he did warn me that he was a liberal). Brief pause. Pussy with no balls?
Invincible Girl understands the fun (and frustration) of making fun of hippies:
…beating up a hippie, although tempting, ends up to be empty violence calories. Those pussies totally don’t fight back. Pacifist assholes.

I was at least half neutered on account of my left nut going bad. However, I was a liberal before that happened so I guess I was just born a pussy. I have never backed down from a fight but I do vote for progressive candidates so I guess as they say “If the lips fit, wear ‘em”
