I’ m watching the debate live right now. The Vice Presidential debate is everything the Presidential debate wasn’t but should have been.
Do you get the feeling that Vice President Cheney wants to drag Mr. Edwards out back and stomp his ass? Bad heart and all, I’d bet nickles to dimes that the Vice President would stomp his skull in. Which is a good analogy to the current War. The current admin has what it takes to kick ass when ass-kickin’ is called for. The Edwards/Kerry administration? Uh, they’d get their teeth kicked in.
More later…but the Vice President is handling Edwards like he’s his bitch.
UPDATE: So, it’s the next morning. And the spin machines are cycling faster than ever. But the Democrats won’t be able to spin Edwards looking like a nervous school girl.
The highlight of the debate, as discussed all over the place (but done better than most here) was when Vice President Cheney slapped Edwards with:
…that despite the fact that as Vice-President he regularly presides over the Senate, he had never met Edwards until he walked onto the stage tonight. This fact blew me away; I wouldn’t have thought it possible. It blew Edwards away, too.
Annika took such great notes on the debate that she doesn’t need to turn them into an entry; they work better as is. Her best observation?
Edwards asks rhetorically whether America has ever been more divided. The answer is easy. Yes, from 1861 to 1865.
