A great weekend for Texas sports (unless you’re a hapless, myopic Cowboys fan).
On Saturday, my beloved Longhorns beat the Tigers of Missouri. The game started at 2:30, which means that we started tailgating at 10:00 a.m. Thanks to Leon and Jenai for once again whipping up the world’s greatest tailgating grub. The 90° heat made it feel more like summer than late October.
We left the game a little early to get back to our tailgate party to watch the end of the Astos vs. Cardinals (Game 3 of the NLCS). Gotta love a tailgate party replete with portable generator, television, and a satellite dish. The ‘Stros won 5-4.
Sunday was spent camped out in front of the TV. First the Houston Texans whipped the former Houston team (now residing somewhere in Tennessee) 20-10. And then the ‘Stros beat the Cardinals in Game 4 of the NLCS to tie the series up at 2 games apiece. If you are not watching, you are missing the two best players currently playing the game (Albert Pujols and Carlos Beltran).
The only thing that would have made this weekend any better would have been losses by the Aggies and Sooners.
