The Austin American Statesman (which cautiously–and wisely–threw their endorsement to President Bush this week) reports that military absentee voting is up for this Presidential election.
A poll of 655 active-duty military and their families by the National Annenberg Election Survey found that nearly 70 percent trusted Bush more than Kerry.
No, I know a few things about the military and how they’re likely to vote. And this does not bode well for the Kerry/Edwards ticket.
You think the polling sample is too small? Or that you can’t trust the suddenly-right-leaning Statesman? Well, the Military Times newspaper chain also polled 4100 troops, and found that 70-plus percent of its active-duty and reserve readership support President Bush, with the greatest support coming from those who had been deployed for some time since Sept. 11, 2001.
So, all you hippies, communists, and liberal whackos standing around protesting the war (instead of going to work, or at least make the pretense of looking for a job) and demanding that we “bring our boys home” (although I seriously doubt that any of these pacifist losers would have any children of their own involved in the actual defense of this country)…here’s a message to you: They believe in what they are doing, and they support President Bush’s plan in the war on terror. So much so that they will help put President Bush back in charge for 4 more years.
I think this is the biggest indictment against Kerry: the men he thinks he’ s one of and that he talks about leading, don’t want him back in their chain of command.
