“We Support the Troops but Oppose the War” leftwing lunatics.

If I hear one more moonbat liberal claim that they “oppose the war but support our troops", I’m going to punch him square in his whining pie hole.
-------------------------

They are lunatics and they don't fall into a political category, but it seems kind of contradicting to say how much of lunatics they are and embrace the same behavior they have.
Its also ridiculious to generalize these people as the "oppose the war but support the troops" people, it kind of undermines the real supporters who actually support the troops but oppose the war in a respectful way.
If they had any sense at all they'd realize that they're actions are only costing themselves if they pay taxes.
And then the part about you disliking protestors is a little strange because you actually support them because you are a soldier and you protect their freedom of speech and they enjoy their luxurious naive world-view because of what you have done. Ofcourse the media gives us a view of the irrational protestors who oppose the war in a disrespectful way, but that is to achieve a political motive. There are respectful protestors who have served in wars before. To be quite honest most protestors are respectful. The cameraman gets paid to find the most outrageous crowd members because the media is about selling a controversy and attaining a political calmness amoungst the masses because nobody wants the 60's type protests again, especially congress.

aha! but you see, there are those who realize there is no difference between the troops and the leaders ordering the troops:

http://www.crispinsartwell.com/subvert.htm

so as someone who has opposed the war from day one, I say: fuck the goddamned troops. there, now you have real opposition. not that happy liberal soccer mom "support the troops" but "oppose the war" nonsense.

I'd like to hear your brother's thoughts. Reminds me of this gem from the recent Weekly Standard cover story on Benjamin Disraeli:

"[W]hen the nation was at war, the opposition was duty bound to support the war effort. Disraeli disliked the Crimean War and said so, but assured the House that no English general fighting abroad would face any opposition effort 'to depreciate his efforts and to ridicule his talents' so long as he was in charge."

I doubt Disraeli could even have imagined the Vietnam-era American left and its next-generation offspring.
