…As a Republican
Joe Scarborough just interviewed Michele Zipp, the Editor-in-Chief of Playgirl magazine who reveals that she’s a member of the Grand Ole’ Party.
Expect the democrats to start screaming that she’s not a real journalist any moment now. Zipp is the Wonkette of the Right. Except better looking, classier, and not as vulgar. But they both draw their readership in with their respective types of porn.
Zipp spells it out. “Those on the right are presumed to be all about power and greed — two really sexy traits in the bedroom. They want it, they want it now, and they’ll do anything to get it. And I’m not talking about some pansy-assed victory, I’m talking about full on jackpot, satisfaction for all.”
“The Democrats of the Sixties were all about making love and not war while a war-loving Republican is a man who would fight, bleed, sacrifice, and die for his country. Could you imagine what that very same man would do for his wife in the bedroom?” asks Zipp.
Indeed.

I would have assumed the editor of Playgirl was a gay man. Republican maybe, homosexual definitely.
(But I don’t suppose I have to mention that her rational for being a Republican is a little superficial- to put it kindly.)
I’m surprised not to find a post on the big Republican victory yesterday. No celebrations on keeping those deadbeat hospital patients from declaring bankruptcy after their insurance doesn’t cover their bills?
For the record, I think the Bankruptcy Bill just passed is a bad bill.
I’ll be sitting down later today to write my Senators and Reps to let them know I think as much.
What I’d like to see now from the Dems would be for them to quit trying to validate Sgrena’s story of US troops trying to kill her, quit crying about Bolton’s appointment to the UN, and stand up and oppose something that most Americans care infinitely more about than either of those two other things.
“What I’d like to see now from the Dems…”
If you look at Talking Points Memo and Atrios you’ll see a concerted effort to do just that. (If your side stops lumping the Dems in with the ‘moonbats’, I’ll see if I can get my side from lumping the GOP with the ‘God Hates Fags’ wingnuts… I say that because I really don’t think those stories have been a focus of the Democrats. What blindsided the Dems was the fact that they have been focused on protecting Social Security. [And ultimately that is probably a more important battle to win because a defeat there is like irreversible while the bankruptcy bill can be changed if we get a less beholden crowd of legislators up there.])
