I was one of the Marines that was asked to leave the lot, we adapted and over came. I understand the outrage but it is very much their right to ask us to leave.

If editorializing--or spinning, to be more accurate--a group's decision to control the use of their private property as they see fit is what blogging is all about, then I'd say you are doing your "job" well. You want to diseminate this info, fine. Leave out your biased thoughts. Otherwise it's a game of Telephone and report will eventually morph into the UAW actively supporting Al Qaeda, which until PROVEN, is not true. (And your faulty extensions of logic are not proof.)

It's not a popular decision, I agree. Or even a politically smart decision. But they are well within their rights and that should be respected. The more I think about this item, the more I am amused by your outrage about it. Lumping it in with vandals and terrorists only shows how hard the Right has to work to find things to complain about

It is American to exercise control of your private property. It is also American to peacefully protest decisions made by the government; those that turn violent should suffer the consequences. Unfortunately, it is also American to call anyone who doesn't join the military or support the President (and, by your faulty extension, the war) a coward.

Oh give me a break already. You take one of the largest unions in the country, one that makes domestic autos (and for some reason enjoy working on them), and wonder why they have a thing against Bush, the Repub party, and foreign automobiles? Why in the world would unions be against a Prez whose party is lowering the minimum wage, eliminating social security, and doing nothing about an increasingly tilted trade imbalance? Must be because they're filled with traitors. You and your empty-headed icon Michelle need to stop spinning around so hard, you're obviously dizzy.

I was in the military during ODS also. I was on the Joint Staff during OEF and OIF. I supported the troops, I supported OEF at least, but be damned if I support this chickenhawk in chief.

Absolutely, we need more transparency from General Electric, Disney, Viacom, and Time Warner about their pro-corporate, institutional biases!

How can we expect a profession- whose responsibility it is to question power- to do it's job when it _is_ the authority in our society?

True...but a big difference between my style of journalism and, oh...say, CNN, CBS News, FOX News, The NY Times, or the Washington Post...is that I don't claim to be unbiased.

Blogs are useful for precisely this type of information dissemination---whether it be from the Right or from the Left---to point out events that you feel are getting over looked by the traditional MSM, or to point out inaccuracies in what's being reported. Editorializing just gives us some flavor and a distinct voice; hopefully not the same voice being parroted by the MSM.

My tag line should be that of Dennis Miller:

"Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong."

IMO, Outraged Bloggers typing (and irrationally editorializing) these incidents nowadays does more to alert the opposition than the incident itself.
