postcard imageI am ruined without her.

The above postcard is my favorite from the PostSecret art project, where people from around the world share their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard.

From PostSecret’s comments:

Thank you so much for building a window into so many souls, even if it only shines light on the darkest part. That’s the part that we need to see. It’s the part that is most like us. And the light helps.”
-Texas

Interesting Web site. Very visceral and very real. What’s your secret?

Not bad- I like the use of the images.

I had seen this site before which is only text: http://grouphug.us

But Robbie…how can we tell you our secrets..we could never show our face in here again…lol…funny thing about the internet…it’s anonymous yet totally personal.

And Preston won’t even tell us how old he is or where he’s from, much less a secret…lol

I know where he’s from. But it’s not my place to divulge. Plus, I don’t think it matters too much…

Although, I do think knowing someone’s age does make a bigger difference when evaluating someone else’s thoughts and opinions. Maybe it shouldn’t…but (at least for me) it does.

quit laughin Preston

No secret- I was only reluctant to say where I was from because it seemed clear that ‘Red’ wanted to use that to dismiss my arguments. While being in NY (which I am) is part of my history, so is spending about 1/2 my life in the South for what that’s worth.

I understand the need for background sometimes to put someone’s ideas in context my discussion with Red didn’t really seem like one of those times.

Preston: Understand

Robbie: About the postsecret site, you were right about your description of it. Some were very beautiful, others dark, and yet others very titillating. Isn’t it interesting how people find outlets to describe their deep seated feelings. The internet has become a big diary.

ok here’s my secret. I’m on this site. Actually it’s where I was a couple of years ago…I also needing a place to express myself.
