When Bad 911 Calls Get Worse

Posted by Robbie Cooper on April 18th, 2005 | Trackback

The irony of the 911 call: Once the dispatcher cracks his joke, the mother takes a firm, no nonsense approach with the dispatcher to let him know that she’s not going to put up with his inappropriate behavior. If she had only used this same approach with her own children, she wouldn’t have needed to call 911.

Why Haven’t You Served

Posted by Robbie Cooper on April 16th, 2005 | Trackback

If you meet (or have ever met) the general qualifications for service in the US military, but have never served…my question is this: Why not?

Today: Robbie’s Annual Crawfish Boil

Posted by Robbie Cooper on April 16th, 2005 | Trackback

This year I expect to boil about 60 lbs of bugs on our back porch…we have 4 cases of beer iced down…but, as usual most of our ~40 guest will probably bring more.

UT Protestors Arrested

Posted by Robbie Cooper on April 15th, 2005 | Trackback

I’m giddy that these idiots were arrested and detained overnight in jail. Wouldn’t it be sweet karma if one or more of them missed work while they were in jail for their idiocy and were fired for it? Except they would then have more time to participate in Austin’s Professional Protestor culture…

Quote of the Day

For those who have fought for it, freedom has a taste the protected will never know

Senator Kerry: Looking for Tales of Hardship

Posted by Robbie Cooper on April 13th, 2005 | Trackback

The only other hardship that I have endured, Senator Kerry, is your betrayal to me and to every other man and woman who has served in this US military by not signing your Form 180, as you promised you would do 73 days ago. I haven’t signed mine yet, either Senator Kerry. So I have a proposal for you—one Veteran to another—I’ll meet you on the Tim Russert show anytime (the sooner the better), and we can sign them together. What say you?

Last year, my brother Marty and I placed 11th out of 36 teams in our division. This year, I’m proud to report that we improved our 4-round score by 13 throws to finish in 2nd place (5 throws behind Taylor Reid/Blake Betts of Abiline, TX) out of 34 teams in our division.

I’m leaving bright and early in the morning for the PDGA Amateur World Doubles Disc Golf Championships, which are being held at the Circle R Ranch in San Saba, TX.

Student Thugs at Butler University

Posted by Robbie Cooper on April 7th, 2005 | Trackback

Idiots on the Left are laughing it off, saying “It was only a pie in the face. Lighten up.” Except that throwing a pie at someone is assault. And those students should be expelled by Butler and arrested by the Indianapolis Police. Department

Churchill’s Lawyer to CU: “Nazis”

Posted by Robbie Cooper on April 6th, 2005 | Trackback

Why the repeated comparisons to Nazis and Nazi Germany? I think, quite possibly, that neither Churchill nor his lawyer have any clue as to what happened in Nazi Germany. That’s the only thing I can think of. Well, either that or they’re complete fucking morons.

More of the Left “Supporting” our Soldiers

Posted by Robbie Cooper on April 6th, 2005 | Trackback

I’ll bet if you listened carefully during the free-speech shout-down, you would’ve heard each and every one of those 200+ student-terrorists say, “I support our soldiers, but…”

Which is total bullshit. I know it. You know it. And they know it.

One of my favorite images from Austin—taken during the Statesman Capitol 10K race on April 3, 2005.Good friend and local Disc Golf Pro/Tournament Director/Pro Shop Proprietor/Disc Golf Ranch Owner David Moody finished 19th out of 454 in the Men’s 40-44 division (104th overall) with a time of 39:54.

Congratulations Lady Bears

Baylor (and Waco) have had a run of bad press and unfortunate incidents over the years…from David Karesh to Dave Bliss.

This NCAA Championship will be a nice boost for a resilant university.

A Quick Word About the Passing of the Pope

Posted by Robbie Cooper on April 5th, 2005 | Trackback

I’m not so much saddened by the passing of the Pope, as I am grateful to have lived nearly my entire life under his watch.
