UPDATE II (May 23): The rumours of Mr. Crook’s death are just that: another sick attempt to defame the brave men and women of our military.
UPDATE: Apparantly the Foresakethetroops Web site is a twisted money grabbing idea of Mr. Crook, who is simply trying to make a fast buck selling domain packages. Regardless of ‘why’ he created and posted this garbage, he’s still a vile piece of shit.
****
Few things enrage me more than when a miserable creature—one who has no chance of being free unless made or kept so by the exertions of better men than himself—runs down the men and women of our military.
If you ever want to provoke me into a fist fight with you, bad mouth a soldier to my face.
Over at the Mudville Gazette, I found a link to this story about a pathetic piece of scum, Michael Crook, who has created foresakethetrooops.info (not going to link to it). The goal of his site?
Crook of Syracuse, New York, claims members of the military make too much money.
Crook says the idea behind his site was “to call attention to what I feel is excessive pay and benefits given to our military.”
On his site, Crook lables soldier who have been injured or killed in the line of duty “leeches” and “scumbags.”
Our underlying problem is this: the military is a lifestyle these morons chose. What idiot risks their life for a country? It’s what they chose. So…Forsake our Troops! Let ‘em die in combat– we don’t need their ilk in this country!
I wonder if Mr. Crook feels the same way about police officers and firemen? I mean, after all, it is a lifestyle that they chose. What idiot risks their life for a community?
Sadly, there is probably a large number of unhinged-lefties who would agree with Mr. Crook—and even fewer who would denounce him for it (because they would be too busy defending his right to say what he said). I’m sure he’s the toast of the DU-lunatics.
UPDATE: Forsake The Troops is led by Scott Vogel and Laurie Vogel

I don’t see how this could be construed as the ‘left’. The man (presumably) wants to cut veterans benefits because they cost too much. This is not a position of the left- we have, in fact, criticized President Bush for praising the troops while slashing their benefits.
The guy is just a crank.
