[...] My favorite blogging event in Austin was the Ann Coulter appearance at the LBJ Auditorium earlier this year. It was a memorable event, not so much for the speech itself, but for the opposition Coulter’s appearance on campus caused and the subsequent arrest of Ajai Raj. [...]

To call anyone Treasonous is a serious claim, no matter the size of the group being called such.

Wake up people, common sense ain't *that* hard.

Preston Said:
"Moore is a propagandist as well but at least he restricts his attacks to policies and those implementing those policies"

I'm sure Moore's comments about "Jesus Land" following the mandate on Nov 2 had nothing to do with the average Americans living in those states. Just those implementing the policies therein, right Preston?

Preston Said:
"Coulter has effectively labeled 50% of the country as Treasonous."

I'm sure you mean the 48% that voted for Sen. Kerry when President Bush earned his mandate. Did you know that a mere 21% of them identify themselves as Liberals? I believe that is who Ms. Coulter is calling treasonous. Recall that swing voters, according to Coulter, are idiots because they "have no set of basic philosophical principals on which to have an opinion." She doesn't call those individuals treasonous.

<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Article_Three_of_the_United_States_Constitution#Treason">Treason</a>?

I believe that Gore is referring to 'betrayal' of trust not "levying War against [the United States], or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."

But of course it's ok for the ex-Vice-President and Presidential candidate to label the presiden as a traitor...

How stately..

He betrayed this country!" Mr. Gore shouted into the microphone at a rally of Tennessee Democrats here in a stuffy hotel ballroom. "He played on our fears. He took America on an ill-conceived foreign adventure dangerous to our troops, an adventure preordained and planned before 9/11 ever took place."

Moore is a propagandist as well but at least he restricts his attacks to policies and those implementing those policies ie Iraq War, unlimited gun rights, corporate de-industrialization.

It's disturbing to label a class of Americans as treasons- it smacks of a little fascism to me. (Sorry if I've violated <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin's_law#Other_laws_and_corollaries">Godwin's Law</a> but de-humanizing large groups of people leads one to that conclusion.)

Both of them play loose with the facts but Moore has much more sympathy for average Americans.

It's hard to believe anyone takes her seriously- what a joke. She's 40 years to late to take Lenny Bruce's crown.
