Google usually changes its logo on holidays such as St. Patrick’s Day, Halloween, and so on. It also changes its logo for birthdays and other events of note, such as Leonardo da Vinci and Vincent van Gogh’s birthdays, World Water Day, and National Teacher’s Day.

Back in April, Michelle Malkin and numerous other bloggers noticed that Google didn’t change its logo for Easter. Which seems odd. Many bloggers had their theories about why Google didn’t have a special logo to commemorate the Easter holiday.

Well, I have my own theory for why Google doesn’t have a special logo for Flag Day today. My theory involves the fact that Google does have special logos for La Fête de la Musique and Bastille Day, but doesn’t have a special logo for Veteran’s Day or Memorial Day.

You know, Google, I understand that you serve a worldwide audience…but you’re still an American company. Why are you so embarrassed and afraid to be proud of that fact?

Aye aye aye…

Flag Day doesn’t seem to fit under the types of holidays they are interested in (but I’m sure they’ll get to it, just like they got to MLK Day one year). They seem to gravitate to ‘fun’ events: ethnic holidays, or celebrations of famous people, in addition to annual recognitions of Thanksgiving and Halloween and a few others.

That Michelle Malkin must not sleep- looking for more slights against the US.
