The U.S. Army announced that it has exceeded its monthly recruiting goal in June.
But the US Army — including my youngest brother, who is a Sergeant First Class, combat decorated veteran, and now full time US Army recruiter in charge of his own recruiting station in south Texas — continues to face numerous obstacles attempting to recruit and enlist willing and capable young men and women into the US Army.
Most of the obstacles my brother and his fellow soldier recruiters face comes from the rabidly anit-military and anti-war Left. This includes counter-recruiting campaigns, intimidating and attacking recruiters and recruiting stations, blocking recruiters access to job fairs and campuses, and out-right obstructionism and lies about the military.
GoJackArmy takes on the lies bandied about by the biggest obstacle to recruiting young adults into the military: Liberal parents:
Thankfully, some recruiters out there are finding young men and women out there willing to step and and serve. Thankfully, there are recruiters out there slogging it out even though our media and part of Congress is telling Americans it’s OK not to support our country and telling our enemies that they’ll do what they can to help them defeat America.
You can disagree with me if you like, but that’s my opinion and it’s coming from the perspective of a Soldier. If you say you support me (”the troops”) but you say things that help the enemy, then you are a liar. Plain and simple. All you’re lacking is your suicide vest and Al Qeada membership card.
I’ve said all along that the biggest lie being told by the Left today is, “I support the military, but…[add qualifier and excuse of the day here]“. Dick Durbin claims to support the troops. But, in reality, he has done more to comfort and support the enemy than he has our own soldiers.
GoJackArmy ackowledges that there are some bad recruiters:
Admittedly, some recruiters are better than others. But then, so are some recruits.
…everyone has an impression that all recruiters lie. Of course, a few bad apples can spoil the bunch, but here is a worm in your apple: most parents and recruitable kids lie. Recruiters, how many times have you heard the following (parents, how many times have you SAID the following):
GoJackArmy procedes to discuss the most common lies recruiters hear from the anti-military left on a day-to-day basis.
Go read the entire thing. It’s a heavy dose of reality to those parents trying to keep their adult children from learning more about and possibley enlisting in the US Military.
You’re either with us or against us. There is no middle ground on this one.

Liberal parents
Come on…
You can’t tell me on the one hand that the military is made of patriotic conservatives then tell me that their parents are America-hating liberals.
Rather than politicizing the recruiting problem why not simply accept the unsurprising conclusion that parents don’t want their children to face the risk of dying.
