Howard Dean just can’t help himself, can he?
Republicans are “a pretty monolithic party. They all behave the same. They all look the same. It’s pretty much a white Christian party.”
Wait…isn’t Dr. Dean white? And I know that—on more than one occasion—I’ve heard him claim to be a Christian. What an idiot. And this is the guy that’s going to help the Dems win some elections?
James Taranto at the Wall Street Journal can’t help but calling the kettle…white?
Howard Dean–scion of Park Avenue, former governor of Vermont, a state that is 96.8% people of pallor–is faulting Republicans for being white, even though he himself is whiter than an albino polar bear with dandruff.
What’s he going to accuse us of next? Being college educated and wealthy (despite the fact that we have “never made an honest living in their lives”)?
I’m not a Christian myself, but I really don’t understand all of the Christian-hate that comes from the left. Aren’t there Christians that vote Democrat too? No? Really?
The thing is, this nation was founded by Christians on Christian principles. And it’s served us all quite well for the last 200+ years. You don’t have to be a Christian to understand that-–as far as principles go—Christian ones are pretty damned good. You don’t have to believe in Christ to understand that the lessons of the Bible are a pretty damn good way to lead your life.

‘Sorry it’s not ‘Christian hate’… There are no shortage of Christians in the Democratic party. They simply don’t feel that our government should determine which religions are preferred in our society- that is the goal of the Religious Right- not religious freedom but religous supremecy.
Democrats don’t believe that a selective reading of the Bible should be used to justify discrimination. I’m sorry if the Bible seems to condone slavery- a modern society does not find that permissible.
The Republicans can continue to court the fundamentalists. Americans will decide.
