Preston: And I have to expound a bit. We, the people of the United States, are rebelling against the movement to a secular government and society. I really think that is the bottom line here. We are a religious nation which values life. One can say being secular values life; indeed only life and not afterlife, but it’s not the same thing. Our forefathers did not believe that we should have a secular government. They believed that we should have the freedom to pursue religion in a free society where a particular religion is not forced on us. They did not intend for us to banish Christmas or any other religious holiday. They did not intend that judges should overrule the vote of the majority in respect to religious philosophy. And, yes, this concern is greater than any other when it comes to voting.

on Michael Jackson:
The jury found him not guilty. Soooo….let it rest. We weren’t there. Imagine the hell on earth he went through if he wasn’t guilty. Yes, he is weird, but I have to believe in the jury system. I think OJ was an exception to the rule. There are always unfortunate exceptions.

Now, Preston…Schiavo. Don’t be too quick to throw this in Debra’s face. Imagine someone you love before you judge. Granted half of Terri’s brain was gone..to be expected I think, but you don’t know what the other half can do nor do I. My mom just had one stroke, some damage, then another…severe stroke..left side paralyzed, she couldn’t even swallow, but guess what…with therapy they are retraining her brain…and she can swallow now…she can even lift her left leg with stimulation.. A clot destroyed part of her brain. Years ago she would have been written off and died in a nursing home. Today she has a chance of regaining part of her normal functions. I challenge you…why can an idiot savant show brilliance in one part of the brain while the rest appears dead or unable to show normal function? Don’t kill us all off cause we ain’t like you.

I never had much to say about the Schiavo story to begin with. I’m glad the autopsy results revealed (or did not reveal, depending on your perspective) what they did.

I hope everyone is able to get a little closer to cloture now.

I heard on my local Sacramento radio station today that Michael Jackson had been kicked out of the Boy Scouts because he was up to two packs a day!

They also said he tried to join the musical group Boys2Men; he thought it was a delivery service!

He’s a sick f___. He should thank those jurors: he’d have surely died in jail. I strongly suspect, too, that all his mysterious ailments that beset him during the trial will suddenly clear up.
