I still love this quote by a stand-up comic on the Tonight Show one night.

"'We support the troops, we just don't support what they're doing.' Pick a side, you wuss! That's like saying, 'I love the Jews, I just wish they'd accept Jesus.'" -- Steve Marmel

Thanks for the mention. I hope your brother is keeping his head above water. Recruiting is so challenging, I've heard many Soldiers say that they would rather go back to Iraq/Afghanistan than pull a tour on recruiting duty.

Wow, did you misread that, Preston.

The Army (and all other branches of the Armed Services) are comprised of---by overwhelming numbers---conservative Republicans. Most of them come from conservative families. It is not the parents of these soldiers I was discussing.

It is the underwhelming numbers of Liberals who are not joining the military whose Liberal parents I was castigating.

You'd like to think that it's not a politicized problem, but I've been in the trenches...I hear my brothers recruiting stories everyday. Believe me, it's not Republican, conservative parents and students out there chasing recruiters off campus, vandalizing their recruiting stations, making up horrendous lies about Marine recruiters and printing it in the MSM....

There is a very strong "counter-recruiting" campaign being ochestrated by the Left. I've seen it. And so have the recruiters out in the field.

Liberal parents

Come on...

You can't tell me on the one hand that the military is made of patriotic conservatives then tell me that their parents are America-hating liberals.

Rather than politicizing the recruiting problem why not simply accept the unsurprising conclusion that parents don't want their children to face the risk of dying.
