In 2001, a 9-year old Houston girl was abducted and raped by either Aldo Rene Penaflor or Hugo Adrian Penaflor, 22-year-old identical twins.
What’s not in doubt is that both men were in the car at the time of the rape and abduction, and that at least one of them raped the 9 year old victim. DNA evidence collected from the victim positivley identifies…well…them.
The odds of two people having the same DNA can stretch upward of 1 in 6 billion — unless they are identical twins. Which is the case for the Penaflor brothers.
Hugo Penaflor may testify against his brother. Hugo Penaflor pleaded guilty in August 2004 to aggravated sexual assault and aggravated kidnapping in an agreement that he will be sentenced to 15 years in prison if he testifies at Aldo Penaflor’s trial.
Hugo’s brother, Aldo, is on trial this week. How does his scum-bag lawyer intend on getting his client acquited?
“The DNA is inconclusive. It could have been Aldo, or it could have been Hugo. You will have reasonable doubt,”defense attorney Gilbert Villarreal told jurors…
You know what? I don’t care which one of these two they put to death. In fact, just give ‘em both the needle. That would take care of any ‘reasonable doubts’ in my mind.

UPDATE: Aldo Penaflor was sentenced to life in prison for the rape of a 9-year-old girl. Penaflor, of course, said he was innocent. Even though his twin brother and they’re shared DNA both said that Aldo was the one who did it.
Of course, in Texas, a life sentence is only 40 years. Hopefully, Aldo will die in prison before he has a chance to get out and rape someone else’s little girl.

I wonder if the poor little girl will have to testify. I hope not, at least not in front of the jury. Kidnapping in Kansas carries a mandatory life sentence, even if the victim is locked in the closet in his/her own home. I was on such a jury and I presume the guy is still locked up. I wouldn’t care what reasonable doubt existed, they are both guilty.
WELL I ‘VE BEEN KNOWING ALDO AND HIS BROTHER FOR YEARS, AND I STILL HAVE CONTACT WITH ALDO, AND I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT TO BELIEVE BUT HE SAYS HE IS INNOCENT AND GOING BACK TO TRIAL, HOPEFULLY WHAT HE SAYS IS TRUE CAUSE IS SO HARD TO BELIEVE HE WOULD DO SOMETHING HORRIBLE LIKE THAT….. I can believe this is the two – the two who have done this before in the east end – Houston, TX. They are a disgrace to the Mexican American culture and would be vultures and cause great harm to the general public if they were released. Their older brother was killed due to gang violence.
Aldo was/is the more submissive one and laughs a lot, while Hugo was/is the smartest. It would not surprise me that Aldo took the blame. Either way, the word on the street is that they both partook in this type of violence, not just this one 9 year old girl. They just finally got caught. If you ever meet these guys, Aldo is the one who has a chipped front tooth at an angle.
well, i belelieve that aldo is innocent and it might take some time to prove it. if he did the crime well he;ll do the time. but first of all their not identical twins, 2nd their older brother did’t die for gang violence. their older brother was the best person ever. I always chuckle when someone claims that “we don’t know the true story” because inevitably they are the one that is clueless.
Both were complicit in the kidnapping and rape of a child and both should be convicted and sentenced.
I knew there family and true even if they came from a troubled past rape to a child is rape. They deserve whatever sentance they get
