Patrick at Gryphmon’s Grumbles and Bruce at GayPatriot have called for a boycott of San Francisco after the Bay City’s supervisors voted 8-3 against a resolution that would have provided a permanent berthing of the USS Iowa as a museum in the Port of San Francisco.
Patrick’s reason for boycotting SF?
“I’m sorry, but I will not ever visit a place where the US military is not welcome. “
Amen to that, Patrick.
‘You know how the Liberal-Left has been screaming about shuting down the detention center at Guantanomo Bay, but hasn’t provided a solution or location as to what to do with the current detainees? I’d be in favor of putting up a wall around SF (since they’ve already completely separated themselves from anything even remotely resembling American values), and re-locating the enemy combatants to Camp San Fran.
Michelle Malkin points out that even Sen. Dianne Feinstein—one of the most petty politicians in the country—calls the supervisors vote petty:
Referring to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and efforts to defend the country against possible terrorist attacks, she added, “I thought that in view of what’s going on and in view of the loss of lives of our men and women, it was a very petty decision.”
And on what grounds did the SF supervisors reject the Military?
In turning away the Iowa, supervisors cited opposition to the war in Iraq, the treatment of gay and lesbians in the service and the city’s reputation for embracing the peace movement.
(Empasis mine) The city’s reputation for embracing the peace movement? Are you fucking kidding me?
You mean “embracing the peace movement” like this? When protestors were arrested for attempted lynching, malicious mischief, battery to a police officer, aggravated assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon and willful resistance to a police officer that results in serious bodily injury.
The officer remains in the hospital in serious condition with brain swelling. He has developed a blood clot as a result of his injuries.
That was just last week, too, wasn’t it?
Boycott San Francisco? Yeah, I’m on board. But I don’t think that goes far enough.

UPDATE: Lime Shurbert was thinking the same thing I was about SF’s “reputation for embracing the peace movement.”
What’s a little bludgeoning among patriots, right?

“Home of Anarchy, Apathy, and Anti-Americanism” You summed it up.
It’s a difficult task keeping some conservative ground in this wretched liberal stronghold…
But, alas, we do what we can.
