Nah, I wouldn't do that... I don't have the guts for that. But this is such a sick idiot, it makes you angry and scared at the same time. It could be your own family and that's what makes this so frightening.

I have read all about Joseph Duncan. Where he grew up etc... and this is very creepy. When I was in the 4th grade there was a boy who regularly was literally dragged into class kicking and screaming. I remember adults prying his fingers loose from the door frame. Once forced inside and into a desk he would sometimes run out and sometimes just go into a trance like state and just sit there. I have always wondered about him. And guess what his name was...Joseph Duncan. Correct age, the same eyes...Does anyone know if he spent time in Marietta Georgia as a child?

No words can describe my sadness for the Groene family. I pray that Shasta will have nothing but love surrounding her as she grows up. She needs all the chances she can get for a good life. I agree with Brian; I am a peaceful person, but I think lethal injection is too good for Duncan. I am all for bringing back drawing and quartering for him, or the old method of execution from china of lengchi, or death by a thousand cuts. Or just pass hammers out to Steve Groene and the family and let them at him.

His blog makes many references to Christianity and God....

Stating a few times that he is acting on "God's Will", or he had a conversation with God.

In the mindset of George Carlin, I think religion has the potential to really screw people up. I have friends that were brought up strictly as conservative Christians....and they are certainly in a realm of their own.

Abstinence from healthy sex can lead one to committing to some form of grotesque or unusual beliefs in sexuality. I think that some of the most religious or conservative people are the most perverted people, because they repress natural feelings of sexuality with a notion that women (or person of opposite sex) have some type of super-natural power.

In fact, we are supposed to learn (from our mothers, and fathers, and from nature) that sex is natural. Perhaps this post is trying to get into a different psychological analysis, vs. an analysis on effect of religion on people. But I think they're related.

Bottom line: God's not telling you to screw little boys in the ass. You were most likely abused as a child, or you were refrained from natural sex as an adolescent teenager due to conservative Christian beliefs.

Kory,

You make many interesting points. The one thing I come back to is.......ask the victim's family members how they feel. What if you were one. Would you still feel the same way. I say release the sicko to the family members and let them decide his fate

Well, it is October 31, 2007... approximately 1 year later since the last blog was entered above. It would appear that the Joseph Duncan, III has all but been forgotten.

I agree with the previous post. But on a more specific note, it is horrific what Duncan did, and we could sit around all day and conjecture why he did it, what was done to him, what created this monster, was it innate, or developed, did it stem from his uncle raping him or was it the prison time?

Then, we could imagine and order up (as mentioned above) various sinister punishments, ugly tortures, like ball cutting, hammer beating, fire setting--all HEINOUS TREATMENTS, if you will, be inflicted on Duncan, and then, as a final blow, letting him starve to death.

My point? Like the previous post, this does not bring back the deceased, and if it makes any of you feel better to know that such things were done “back” to the predator (Duncan), or worse, to participate in watching these inflictions being done to Duncan, then I am not sure if you are much different than Duncan himself.

The thing is, while I am NOT glad these horrible things happened to the victims, I am neither any happier knowing that such acts would be repeated to the perpetrator. I know it seems like this is the only way the perpetrator might “learn”, or the only way he will understand what horrible things he did, but let us remind ourselves that he is not all there. Remember! He is SICK. He is retarded. He is incapable of really understanding or even controlling his actions.

I am not in any way dismissing his actions, or suggesting that he has no responsibility for his acts--hell no. I just want to bring to light that he can not be expected to perform in a responsible manner when he is so mentally handicapped to begin with.

Now, I am not advocating that he be set free, or that he be told, “no problem,” of course, I don’t think that.

Simply, recognize that it is screwed up, but then don't go out and behave just as screwed up as Duncan is! Call a spade a spade, cage the spade if need be, to protect innocent victims, and then sort out what is really going on here. Hmmmmm....

The guy (Duncan) is a killer, rapist, etc., and he can not be trusted to be "in" society, at least “out” roaming freely. He has already proven he will harm left unsupervised.

Now, has he done society wrong? Yep. Okay, then what is the cost of such offenses. Hmmm, he should be put to death. He does society no good. He only costs and takes up space. He can't ever be let loose, or he will just do it again. So? It sounds like he needs to cease and desist. Well, that's what dying means, to cease and desist. It seems an appropriate action. For what good does it do to continue to live and exist in a cage (prison) until one dies of natural causes (say of old age)?

It does no good for anyone.

As far as wanting him to be treated this way, or that, you don’t need to worry about that at all.

You see, there is no death. Think of dying as traveling. We go to another place--we just don't get to pack any suitcases (i.e. we don't take our physical body).

Rest assured, there IS no death. When we pass on, we just change places and form. But as far as "dying", well sure, we are dead, i.e. our physical bodies die, but "we" do not die. We just change forms.

And for those that have committed such heinous crimes, their state, their existence, their "after life", well, don't worry. It is not a bed of roses, and it is far worse than any ball cutting activity or hammer banging event could ever be.

How do I know this? I died, and came back to life.

I visited "hell" although it is not called hell, and I visited heaven (nor is it called heaven). Long story short, every man, woman and yes, monster, continues to exist, and for those that did not improve while here, well, they "get" to continue to improve over there... but the time of payment is longer, like eons longer.

Suggestion: Don't curse the cursed. Don't harm the inflicted. Don't hate and seek acts of hate to be inflicted on horrible people. It does not help you, it does not help the victims, and it does not "improve" the sick (perpetrators).

What it does do, is keep you from understanding the very point of why you being here… which is to learn to ____________. (I think you can figure out the blank on your own.)

The thing is, if you seek vengeance, then you only harm yourself. So, please, when a Duncan comes along and the horrible crimes that come with it, do seek to understand, and do recognize their is grief and sorrow in such tragedies, but DO NOT seek to deliver the same sick act to the perpetrator because that only pulls you down, and keeps you on the same level.

And this, especially if you are involved with meting out such actions to such losers, you too will be "stuck" just as they are "stuck" in "hell".

As mentioned before, the place is not called hell. It is called Sorrow. For it is place of only sorrow. And here's the kicker, those that dwell there, do so for many, many, many, many eons, such that sorrow is all they ever know.

You see, before we came here, each of us were, so-to-speak, already in a state of specific damnation. Some more than others, and some not at all. We knew that in coming here we would have the absolute power to intensify our state, be it even more freedom or more bondage (damnation).

Put another way, we knew we would have the ultimate power to increase our joy, or damn it even more so.

Now, it is hard to comprehend why anyone would want to increase their damnation, but the best way I can explain it, is to say, that that is their "joy". And the intriguing thing? The combination of the two, works out well to create an environment where by both parties benefit. You (assuming you want joy) are challenged with ugly circumstances (murders, rapists, etc.) which gives you a place to overcome the instinct to feel hatred. And Duncan (assuming his joy is watching others suffer) is allowed to heighten his "joy".

So, even tho' it "sucks" (the whole earthly situation of joy and sorrow), the two actually benefit eac. End result? The Duncans serve a purpose for us, and we serve a purpose for the Duncans.

Bottom line? We can progress, and ultimately receive joy (as we know it) that will be greatly intensified at the end of this earthly experience, AND the Duncans of the world will return to Sorrow and their "joy" as they know it, will also be intensified.

I know its "not fun" to know this, and that's why most of us don't know it. But honestly? If you understand this, then you can find comfort in knowing that "it's all good" and such knowledge can serve a very worthy function: You can find solace, and know that while your tears are genuine, everything really does work together for good.

And remember! the most important thing you can do while here on earth, is refuse to hate. Refuse to indulge yourself in the same heinous thoughts and actions that you believe others are guilty of.

Just don't go there. Have emotion, live with passion, and for sure, enjoy the human experience. But avoid, if at all possible, angry words, hatred, and seeking vengeance.

Seek understanding, have compassion, and walk away from the drama of life so that you can save the price of keeping yourself on the same level of the Sorrowful.

(See previous post…) God does allow the 2 children at the table to scavenger for food, the 3 to be permanently hungry and 2 to die.

Not because God is heartless, but because God knows it must be this way for all of us to be improved.

The reason there are so many problems on this earth, is because the counter part of every problem is an opportunity. Without problems there would be little or no opportunity. Opportunity gives to each of us a chance to intensify our understanding, be it good or bad.

Thank God for the opportunity that life gives us, and Thank God for His infinite wisdom that affords us all such a chance.

When we were given the chance to come to earth, we were elated because at that time we understood the value of such opportunity. Unfortunately, all of us "forgot" and now spend much of our time cursing the very opportunity that we were so grateful to receive.

We need to go back and think about how bored we would be, and how useless the meaning of life would be without the diversity, the challenge and the sense of "reality" that gives us the need to act, breath and think.

Without such need, we would just sit around and do nothing. The reason why we came here at this time is because we wanted the greatest opportunity or the most bang for our buck.

These (the opportunities of life) need to be celebrated--not hated. Let us all remember that we choose daily our problems that we either solve or stay stuck in. We have the power to triumph or the chance to fail. This "is" in itself an incredible thing. Without such possibility, that would take the "real" out of the word reality, and our very existence would be pointless. We come to this earth with a fleshy, physical body that we may feel, sense, taste, touch and experience. Don't throw away the very thing that we all begged for by crying and asking, "Why doesn't God DO something?"

If he did, then "WE" would be back to where we started, OPPORTUNITY--LESS.

You will notice that the earth will fall apart even more so, the people will become even more "wild" doing even more heinous acts that even you can imagine. It will most definitely become more and more and even MORE challenging, “this” is what we have already seen.

But guess what? Those who are being born, are increasingly even more intelligent and more capable of harvesting the very opportunities (difficulties) that are unfolding before our very eyes.

And just as it should be. So, in conclusion, don't worry be happy.

It's all good, and the plan is working.

And finally...

Did you ever stop and think,
When you are on the edge or brink,
Of personally concluding,
That your problems are too eluding,

That try as you may,
At the end of each day,
You are sure your gonna die,
Regardless of how much you try?

And that no matter what you do,
Or how much your life ensues,
You always seem to make it,
Even tho' you only fake it?

And when you can bear no more cuz your at your wit's end
Your troubles seem to vanish, or their cured and they mend.

And when you look back over time, you can really begin to see,
That everything little thing in life is useful ultimately.

For just when you thought that God could not possibly exist,
It dawns on you, He's never really left, rather it is you that must persist.

For that in itself is why you came to dwell on earth,
To seek out new horizons that began at your birth,
And even tho' you think life's hell and you wish you hadn't come,
It sometimes takes intense misery, to appreciate the fun.

So when you're feeling sad and blue, cuz life has let you down,
Take the power that you possess, and turn it right around.
Wield your power carefully and watch your life unfold,
Too all the joy your heart can feel and all your hands can hold.

But wield that power carefully cuz like a knife it cuts both ways,
Left unattended and unguided, it will hurt and it will tase.

Don't give into evil hatred, or its partner "angry words"
Control your thoughts and actions and don't follow the mindless herds.

Take pride in all you say and do, and watch and you will see,
Your life will form into what you want, if you act responsibly.

You came to earth for one single purpose, and that was to find joy,
Don't waste your chance to gain that blessing, your life is not a toy,

Dig in, get up, do it today, don’t wait until till tomorrow,
For those that do, and waste their life, return to only Sorrow.

The guy (Duncan) is a killer, rapist, etc., and he can not be trusted to be “in” society, at least “out” roaming freely. He has already proven he will harm left unsupervised.

Now, has he done society wrong? Yep. Okay, then what is the cost of such offenses. Hmmm, he should be put to death. He does society no good. He only costs and takes up space. He can’t ever be let loose, or he will just do it again. So? It sounds like he needs to cease and desist. Well, that’s what dying means, to cease and desist.

We go to another place–we just don’t get to pack any suitcases (i.e. we don’t take our physical body).

Rest assured, there IS no death. When we pass on, we just change places and form. But as far as “dying”, well sure, we are dead, i.e. our physical bodies die, but “we” do not die. We just change forms.

And for those that have committed such heinous crimes, their state, their existence, their “after life”, well, don’t worry. It is not a bed of roses, and it is far worse than any ball cutting activity or hammer banging event could ever be.

How do I know this? I died, and came back to life.

I visited “hell” although it is not called hell, and I visited heaven (nor is it called heaven). Long story short, every man, woman and yes, monster, continues to exist, and for those that did not improve while here, well, they “get” to continue to improve over there… but the time of payment is longer, like eons longer.

Suggestion: Don’t curse the cursed. Don’t harm the inflicted. Don’t hate and seek acts of hate to be inflicted on horrible people. It does not help you, it does not help the victims, and it does not “improve” the sick (perpetrators).

And this, especially if you are involved with meting out such actions to such losers, you too will be “stuck” just as they are “stuck” in “hell”.

As mentioned before, the place is not called hell. It is called Sorrow. For it is place of only sorrow. And here’s the kicker, those that dwell there, do so for many, many, many, many eons, such that sorrow is all they ever know.

Now, it is hard to comprehend why anyone would want to increase their damnation, but the best way I can explain it, is to say, that that is their “joy”. And the intriguing thing? The combination of the two, works out well to create an environment where by both parties benefit. You (assuming you want joy) are challenged with ugly circumstances (murders, rapists, etc.) which gives you a place to overcome the instinct to feel hatred. And Duncan (assuming his joy is watching others suffer) is allowed to heighten his “joy”.

So, even tho’ it “sucks” (the whole earthly situation of joy and sorrow), the two actually benefit eac. End result? The Duncans serve a purpose for us, and we serve a purpose for the Duncans.

Bottom line? We can progress, and ultimately receive joy (as we know it) that will be greatly intensified at the end of this earthly experience, AND the Duncans of the world will return to Sorrow and their “joy” as they know it, will also be intensified.

I know its “not fun” to know this, and that’s why most of us don’t know it. But honestly? If you understand this, then you can find comfort in knowing that “it’s all good” and such knowledge can serve a very worthy function: You can find solace, and know that while your tears are genuine, everything really does work together for good.

And remember! the most important thing you can do while here on earth, is refuse to hate. Refuse to indulge yourself in the same heinous thoughts and actions that you believe others are guilty of.

Just don’t go there.

Unfortunately, all of us “forgot” and now spend much of our time cursing the very opportunity that we were so grateful to receive.

We need to go back and think about how bored we would be, and how useless the meaning of life would be without the diversity, the challenge and the sense of “reality” that gives us the need to act, breath and think.

Without such need, we would just sit around and do nothing. The reason why we came here at this time is because we wanted the greatest opportunity or the most bang for our buck.

These (the opportunities of life) need to be celebrated–not hated. Let us all remember that we choose daily our problems that we either solve or stay stuck in. We have the power to triumph or the chance to fail. This “is” in itself an incredible thing. Without such possibility, that would take the “real” out of the word reality, and our very existence would be pointless. We come to this earth with a fleshy, physical body that we may feel, sense, taste, touch and experience. Don’t throw away the very thing that we all begged for by crying and asking, “Why doesn’t God DO something?”

If he did, then “WE” would be back to where we started, OPPORTUNITY–LESS.

You will notice that the earth will fall apart even more so, the people will become even more “wild” doing even more heinous acts that even you can imagine. It will most definitely become more and more and even MORE challenging, “this” is what we have already seen.

But guess what? Those who are being born, are increasingly even more intelligent and more capable of harvesting the very opportunities (difficulties) that are unfolding before our very eyes.

And just as it should be. So, in conclusion, don’t worry be happy.

It’s all good, and the plan is working.

And finally…

Did you ever stop and think,
When you are on the edge or brink,
Of personally concluding,
That your problems are too eluding,

That try as you may,
At the end of each day,
You are sure your gonna die,
Regardless of how much you try?

And that no matter what you do,
Or how much your life ensues,
You always seem to make it,
Even tho’ you only fake it?

And when you can bear no more cuz your at your wit’s end
Your troubles seem to vanish, or their cured and they mend.

And when you look back over time, you can really begin to see,
That everything little thing in life is useful ultimately.

For just when you thought that God could not possibly exist,
It dawns on you, He’s never really left, rather it is you that must persist.

For that in itself is why you came to dwell on earth,
To seek out new horizons that began at your birth,
And even tho’ you think life’s hell and you wish you hadn’t come,
It sometimes takes intense misery, to appreciate the fun.

So when you’re feeling sad and blue, cuz life has let you down,
Take the power that you possess, and turn it right around.
Wield your power carefully and watch your life unfold,
Too all the joy your heart can feel and all your hands can hold.

But wield that power carefully cuz like a knife it cuts both ways,
Left unattended and unguided, it will hurt and it will tase.

Don’t give into evil hatred, or its partner “angry words”
Control your thoughts and actions and don’t follow the mindless herds.

Take pride in all you say and do, and watch and you will see,
Your life will form into what you want, if you act responsibly.

You came to earth for one single purpose, and that was to find joy,
Don’t waste your chance to gain that blessing, your life is not a toy,

Dig in, get up, do it today, don’t wait until till tomorrow,
For those that do, and waste their life, return to only Sorrow.
