Sheehan Family Responds

Cindy Sheehan’s family condemns her actions

Many have been wondering how the rest of Spc. Casey Sheehan’s family feels about Cindy Sheehan’s anti-war crusade and her shamlessness in using her dead son to further her own political agenda. Where does her husband stand? What about her parents? Where are they while Cindy is squating on the side of dirt road in the middle of Texas?

In Cindy Sheehan: Dishonoring a Son, I wote how I would feel if it were my mom:

(if) my own mother started acting this way—negating everything he (my US Army brother) stood for and believed in, I would have been humiliated for her and would have let the world know that she was out of her mind.

It looks like Cindy Sheehan’s family feels the same way.

Melanie Morgan at KSFO received this statement from the family this morning:

Hello again Melanie,

Our family has been so distressed by the recent activities of Cindy we are breaking our silence and we have collectively written a statement for release. Feel free to distribute it as you wish. Thanks – Cherie

In response to questions regarding the Cindy Sheehan/Crawford Texas issue:

Sheehan Family Statement:

The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the the expense of her son’s good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect.

Casey Sheehan’s grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

How long before the hypocritical hate-mongerers on the Left begin vilifying and attacking the Sheehan family for using the death of Spc. Casey Sheehan to further their support of the war?

Cindy Sheehan comes with a built-in story. A mother who lost her son in Iraq, and now wants to ask the President a question. It’s very simple and straightforward, and of course it’s a gigantic red flag.

Any mother will tell you there is no pain worse than losing a son, or daughter, to a cause you don’t endorse. This woman is honoring her dearest child. How dare any of you question that?
