Who do you think is the Person of the Year so far?

Who should win Person of the Year (PoY) for 2005?

On Feb 12, Amy Ridenour predicted that Bloggers would be the 2005 PoY.

I agree. *And that’s who gets my vote.

As far as Blog of the Year, right now I’d have to tip my hat in Michelle Malkin’s favor to take home the award (over last year’s inaugural BoY winner, Power Line).

Malkin has been a tireless journalist, both on the air, in print, and online in 2005. Her blog is currently #2 on the TLB Ecosystem, and her current collaborative-effort with Brian Maloney is this year’s ground-breaking investigative coupe—in much the same way that PowerLine broke and then led the Rather-Gate Fake Memo story.

Thought Alarm is predicting that Cindy Sheehan will be PoY for 2005.

Uh, no.

Cindy is even less of a PoY than either Terri Schiavo or Pope John Paul II, both of whom—through their respective deaths—were infinitely more significant than Cindy Sheehan has or ever will be in life.

Spc. Carrie French is more deserving of the PoY than Cindy Sheehan—as is any and every Soldier who died defending our country this year.

* I, of course would give the PoY to the American Soldier every year. But since the American Soldier won in 2003, we’ll have to pick someone else.
