Whenever I hear a Liberal start a sentence with “I support the troops, but…”, I know a bunch of bullshit and lies is about to come spewing forth. Actually, what follows the conjunction is often the truest part of their statement; it’s the “I support the troops” part that proves to be the lie.
However, every-so-often, a leftwing nutjob just admits the truth about their support of the troops. It’s somewhat refreshing. Disgusting. But refreshing.
Like this guy:
the troops don’t really need support, they get paid (hey, they’re volunteers! why are we even paying them?) to do a job. They get FREE artificial limbs when theirs are blown off due to poor driving or inability to use MapQuest, and the (sic) get free meals.
If I hear one more idiot claim that they “oppose the war but support our troopsâ€, I’m going to punch him square in his whining pie hole. Because I’ve seen how you support us—when I was active duty during the first Gulf War—I remember what I thought of war protesters then and how I felt about your type of “supportâ€.
And I’m equally disgusted by it today.

I got to the point of telling people I met up front that if they said to me, “Do you know why they hate us?” I would have to punch their lights out. They would then say, “Do you always solve disagreements by violence?”
And, I would say, “Yes!”
I’m the same way. When people know that there is a very real possibility that I will punch them in the cake hole if they get stupid and disrespectful with me in person, it actually encourages and facilitates civil debate and discussion—even though we might disagree on the topic.
Often the threat of physical attack is more than enough to keep idiots from acting like…well…idiots. Unfortunately, you can’t reach into cyberspace and smack those who need it most.
I support the troops. I don’t support this war or the President’s agenda over there. These statements don’t conflict.
While our troops are there, I want them to have the best intelligence (not John Bolton-esque edited intelligence), equipment (why don’t they have sufficient night-vision goggles and scopes for their rifles?), armor (homemade?), and tactics. I want every one of them to come home…soon. They should not be dying for the President’s lies.
We should welcome them home as heroes who survived (or didn’t) an unjust war. Supporting our troops does not mean approving of their presence where they don’t belong. We need a withdrawal plan that brings every single soldier home no later than Christmas 2007.
