Jay Tea at Wizbang first introduced us to the Babe Theory of Political Movements (BTofPM) back in March:

P.J. O’Rourke once opined on the “babe theory” of political movements. It was his observation that the movements that are bound to succeed are the ones with the pretty girls. The reasoning behind it is they are more likely to woo a large number of male supporters, hoping to impress said pretty girls.

It’s a pretty shallow observation, but I think it holds some merit.

Judging by the photoblogging of this weekend’s protests and counter-protests in Washington D.C., it’s evident which side is winning in this country (based on the BTofPM):

Our side has hotties like this:
Protest babes

While the other side has this:
Code Pink Protestor

We have fine young Soldiers like this:
Fine Young Soldier

Code Pink counters with this:
Code Pink protestor

Supporting our troops in a way that Soldiers can appreciate:
Protest babes

Not supporting our troops:
Protestor

The photo of the large land mass in the pink mumu with skin showing from the bottom is a fake.

While US Generals may not be particularly beautiful by supermodel standards their opinions may be worth a bit more than the hotties’ and they don’t want to stay in Iraq:

For the commanders, Iraq isn’t an endless tunnel. They are planning to reduce U.S. troop levels over the next year to a force that will focus on training and advising the Iraqi military. They don’t want permanent U.S. bases in Iraq. Indeed, they believe such a high-visibility American presence will only make it harder to stabilize the country.

This is similar to the course of action that many Americans on the left have been advocating for some time (to prevent , incidentally, the results of the invasion they predicted in 2002). The left does not want to ‘lose’ Iraq but does not have the starry-eyed idealistic vision of US presence in the Mid East that PNAC has.

So can we forget the notion of US bases in Iraq and let the Iraqi defence forces begin to carry more of their load?

The only thing photoshopped in that image is the fold of belly hanging out from her tent dress.

Are you saying she’s a hottie otherwise?

I’ll never wear pink again. It’s just not my color…lol

The signs to the right of that sow are faked as well.

Nice try.

Got something you want to say?
