…Two of them later arrested for DUI
A quick perusal of my local paper showed three politicians (one Republican, one Democrat, and one Independent) in trouble with the law.
It just goes to show that being “stuck on stupid” is not confined to any one political party:
- Houston-area congressman arrested on DUI charge — U.S. Rep Kevin Brady, 50 (R) a congressman from The Woodlands has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence in South Dakota.
- McAllen senator detained after bringing handgun into airport — Sen. Juan Hinojosa (D) was found with a 9 mm handgun in his briefcase as he passed through security at Miller International Airport in McAllen.
- Candidate nabbed for DWI twice in 3 hours — Brian E. Karst, 34, who is running for Oneida Common Council as an independent candidate was arrested Friday night for DUI. Sobriety tests revealed his blood alcohol content was 0.14 percent, nearly twice the legal limit of 0.08.After his arrest, Karst was released to a third party.
Less than three hours later, Karst was pulled over again by the same officer — driving the same car as before. This time, Karst’s blood alcohol content had dropped to “only” 0.11 (only because they don’t serve beer or whiskey while you’re in jail).
Deputies said Karst also was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Sept. 9.
