I just watched the new Shakira video for La Tortura on ITunes. This video, and hundreds more, are available to download from the ITunes music store—to be viewed in ITunes, or downloaded to your new Ipod with Video.
The video is little more than soft-core porn. Which is fine. I don’t have a problem with porn—soft or otherwise.
But it got me to thinking, how long before the porn industry starts making porn movies available for download to the new IPods? And will Apple try to capitalize by selling porn clips from it’s ITunes Music store? They already sale episodes of the soft-core TV series, Desperate Housewives from the ITunes Music Store, so I don’t see hard-core being that much of a reach for them.

MORE: Shortly after I posted this, I found this post on Technorati by Henrik Harsbo (a web editor from Copenhagen) posted about an American company, Guba, that is already marketing and preparing to sell porn for your IPod:
“We could lie to ourselves, but I’m sure that people will want to watch porn on the new iPod”, says Guba CEO Thomas McInerney to Reuters.
Henrik observes:
Hmm.. as I see it this once again sadly proves the truth of the tech-porn equation: New technology + man = more porn.

I read two different articles the after the launch of the iPod 5G that listed two or three porn site exclusive for porn iPod downloads. It didn’t take long. BTW - There was at least one music video available on ITMS that had partial frontal nudity. There was no explicit content warning on the video and the nudity was also in the preview you could see without buying the video. Apple says, “Whoops!”
