The Annika Amendment

Proving once again why she’s the best conservative, female, law-student blogger alive today, Annika has proposed her own Amendment to the McCain Amendment to the 2006 Department of Defense Appropriations Bill, which puts a blanket prohibition on all “cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment”:

SEC. __. UNIFORM STANDARDS FOR THE INTERROGATION OF PERSONS UNDER THE DETENTION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE.

a) IN GENERAL - All persons within the custody or under the effective control of the Department of Defense or under detention in a Department of Defense facility shall be subject to any treatment or technique of interrogation that works.

b) LIMITATIONS - But whatever you decide to do, for God’s sakes, don’t film it!

Yep.

The American way!

Damn straight it is. Home of the free because of the brave.

I thought we invaded Iraq to shut down the ‘rape rooms’?

I guess they’re ok if they’re being run by the US Department of Defense.

That’s part of the problem with the left these days, Preston: Moral equivalency — you guys on the Left think that the innocent Iraqi citizens who were raped, tortured, gassed, and otherwise murdered by the Saddam regime are the equivalent to the enemy terrorists being detained and questioned by our Military.

Got something you want to say?
