The war on terror is not about one man, and it’s not about one group operating under one name. It’s about an ideology. What we’re fighting against is the idea that Muslims can establish an Islamic totalitarian paradise through terrorism. It’s this idea that threatens us; it’s this idea that attacked us on September 11, 2001; it’s this idea that we’re committed to obliterating from the face of the Earth.
The anti-war left believes that Saddam Hussein never posed a threat to the US; that he never had weapons of mass destruction, and that he would not have used them against his enemies. They believe that if we would simply bring our troops home today, then al-Qaieda would leave us alone. They believe that they would be safe in their beds at night if our boys were not taking the war to the enemy on their soil.
And they are sadly mistaken — and if the Left wins the White House, the Senate, or Congress before we do obliterate these terrorists from the face of the Earth, then we are in grave danger (”Is there any other kind?”)
Left, Right, up, Down, Sneetches with Stars, Sneetches without Stars. Will we ever learn that power is the name of the game? I recommend the film documentary Farenheit 911, not because it has an obvious bash-Bush slant, but because of the actual footage shown. There is a scene where Dubyah, in a monkey suit, says to a crowd of monkey-suited men, “We’re the Haves and Have-Mores”. There are other scenes shot in Iraq which make Clive Barker look like a DisneyWorld parade.
