And held hostage by their own beliefs
The identity of the four kidnapped victims being shown on Al Jazeera have been confirmed by their employer, Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT).
CPT is an anti-war, anti-military, and anti-American activist organization masquerading as a religious organization.
The four “human rights workers” claim to be part of a “violence reduction program”. The horrible irony is that despite being on the same side as the terrorists, they were not immune to the violence of the very terrorists they support. What CTP doesn’t seem to understand is that the terrorists don’t care that CTP hates our soldiers and the US as much as they do.
Instead of blaming the actual terrorists who kidnapped their workers (the same attackers who likely soon will release videos of these workers being beheaded) and holding them accountable for their barbaric actions, CPT blames…are you ready for this: President Bush (and his “illegal war”) and the US Soldiers themselves (bet you didn’t see that one coming).
We are angry because what has happened to our teammates is the result of the actions of the U.S.
Your anger is sadly misdirected. This happened as a result of you being an infidel, them being Islamofacist terrorists, and you not understanding the difference as seen through the eyes of the terrorists.
Sadly, CPT thinks prayer will be enough to get their comrades released. They have released this statement on their website:
CPT does not advocate the use of violent force to save lives of its workers should they be kidnapped, held hostage, or caught in the middle of a conflict situation.
In another horrible instance of irony, if they were to be rescued by the US Military, and it took violence against their terrorist captures to do so, the CPT workers and their organization would probably assault and denounce the Soldiers for their efforts on their behalf.
Just for the record, if I’m ever kindapped and held hostage: the use of extreme and violent force against my captures (especially if they are muslim terrorists inclined to cutting off my head with a dull knife on Al “Now THIS is reality TV” Jazeera) is not only encouraged, but expected.
Kill every last person who shares any responsibility. Shoot them in the face, beat them to death with a baseball bat, run over them with a tank. Whatever it takes, I don’t care.
Even the level-headed Instapundit has a similar “policy”:
InstaPundit strongly supports the use of violent force to save lives of its workers (er, that’s me), readers, advertisers, or unrelated onlookers should they be kidnapped, held hostage, or caught in the middle of a conflict situation. The use of grossly excessive or gratuitous violence, while not exactly encouraged, isn’t exactly deplored, either.
Glenn adds, “If it saves just one life, it’s worth it.”
Indeed.

The horrible irony is that despite being on the same side as the terrorists,
In what way is an organization that opposes war on the same side as an organization that kills innocent people?
