Yes, I see their website is very Pro-Palistine. There is nothing wrong with helping people, Jesus wants us to help anyone in need. I will never as a Christian support terrorist or suicide bombers who kill Jewish people and delcare open hatred toward the Jews. God said to Abraham whoever curses him will be cursed whoever blesses him he will be blessed.
I am praying for their release for God’s glory and God will shake them up a bit that you can’t walk in light and glorify darkness.

Yes, the irony that they blame Pres Bush for their abduction, they had no business even being in Iraq in the first place. They preach the Bible on their website, they may as well just use the Koran, they are not serving the Biblical God of Abraham. You can’t hate Israel

Kevin — Yes,I was partially basing my opinion on that particular quote — you’re right, the quote does say “on behalf of the Iraqi people”, but it also says “working on your behalf”. As the letter is to the terrorists, CTP admits that they are working on behalf of the terrorists.

I don’t know how you can interpret that as anything other than “we are working on behalf of the terrorists”…

Yeah, it’s my blog. I enjoy the differences in opinions that blogging provides me. And I’m not entirely closed minded to a change of mind — one of my loyal-opposition commentors (Preston) often succeeds in making me think and rethink my positions on many topics.

Oh, I do not wish any harm to those 4 CPT’ers. But more than that I hope that no US Soldiers are injured or killed trying to bail out their ungrateful and itiotic asses. And, as an agnostic, my prayers would be rather empty.

Uh, if your using the quote that you previously used – “We appeal for their release so they can continue their work on your behalf and on behalf of the Iraqi people.”
It says that they are doing it for the iraqi people. Not everybody in Iraq is responsible for the actions of the terrorists there and CPT is helping those people that are not terrorists that were dramatically impacted by the U.S. invasion. You are right that they oppose the U.S. invading Iraq however they are in no way saying that what the terrorists did was right.
I doubt that this post will change your mind about anything but I do have to thank you for allowing a difference of opinion to be allowed on your blog. This is your blog right? I just want to check.
Oh, and I’d just like to ask you guys to pray for those 4 people taken hostage, no matter how you feel about CPT.

I’m not misinterpreting them at all, Kevin. In their own words, they are working on the behalf of the terrorists.

I’m not taking them out of context; I’m not misinterpreting them — these are their own words. They are not just there to work on the terrorists behalf either…they are also there to oppose the US troops.

I think that you are misinterpreting what CPT is doing. They are in Iraq helping the iraqi people because they go where people badly need help and their are many people there that need help because of the war. They are not there to support the terrorists, just the people there in general. Not all people there are terrorists and many innocent people have been affected by this. That is why CPT is over in Iraq….not because they support terrorists.

In what way is an organization that opposes war on the same side as an organization that kills innocent people?

Preston, how about this quote from the CPT website, which is an appeal to their terrorist captors:

We appeal for their release so they can continue their work on your behalf and on behalf of the Iraqi people.

That's the way that they are on the same side as the terroists organization that kills innocent people. Preston, sometimes dissent really is traitorous and un-American.

I believe there are religious people who oppose any kind of violence; however, why wasn’t this particular group in Iraq opposing the violence of Saddam? Where were they on 9-11? Why aren’t they in other parts of the world where violence against innocent people is rampant? And now, why aren’t they opposing the violence of the terrorists who abducted their own people? It doesn’t ring true. Of course we need to do whatever we can to save the captives, no matter what they may say or who they may blame and pray that our soldiers don’t die for them in the process.

If they were simply “oppossed to the war” — like yourself — there would be no comparison.

But they are not simply oppossing the war. They are in Iraq trying to thwart our soldiers efforts, diminish their moral, while supporting the cause of the enemy.

And now, by becoming hostages, they have further endangered our troops who will make valient efforts if possible to save their lives — even if it means putting their own lives at risk to do so.

Also, the CPT’ers claim that the only “innocents” being killed are by US Soldiers…not by the terrorists.

In those ways they are on the same side as the terrorists.
