Vote early and vote often
The 2005 Weblog Awards Finalists were announced today, and I’m proud to announce that UrbanGrounds has been selected as a finalist in the Best of the Top 6751 – 8750 Blogs category.
According to Technorati, there are an estimated 22.3 million blogs. To be ranked in the top 8750 is an honor; to be selected as one of 15 finalists in this category is an even bigger honor.
Voting begins December 5, 2005 and ends December 15, 2005. You may vote once per category every 24 hours (per computer). So, I’m going to do a little shameless vote groveling and ask you to go vote for UrbanGrounds. And then go back tomorrow and vote again.
I’ll keep the Weblog Awards logo in the sidebar until the 15th to give you an easy way to vote each day (I’m considerate like that).

I got up early just to make sure you had an early vote..lol…j/k
Congratulations Robbie. It’s been a fun year and you deserve the nomination.
Thanks much for your support, Dianne. I think you and Preston were my first two “repeat” or “regular” readers back when I started this blog last year.
Nice to still have both of you as readers more than a year later.
Dude, you’ve got my vote, every day for the entire voting period. Nobody else in your category comes close.
Thanks, Jeff.
I’ve voted for ThinkSink both days as well.
Nice Site! and in Tx too!
I’d vote for you but well, you know…..
Dont know if you ever read Dr Jack Wheeler at To The Point News.com
No, I’m not a TTP’er by any means.
But he mentions a good point about the recent hot talk coming from Tehran about wiping Israel off the map.
Before I go further let me say this: I’m sure a lot of the Iranian President’s bluff and guff was for domestic consumption, in much the same way that old Southern Democrats would rant about “niggras” before their predominantly Klan audiences during elections. So I personally dont get excited about the public statements made by politicians anywhere: Tehran or Washington. It’s what they say or do when they have no cameras on them that gets me worried.
But let’s suppose this idiot Ahmadinejad really means what he sez and sez what he means. A nuke aimed at Jerusalem would (1) Kill a lot of Muslims and (2) wipe out Islam’s second holiest site.
If I were a Palestinian muslim the remarks about “wiping Israel off the map” would scare me. (I hafta believe that only a tiny fraction of muslims would welcome the opportunity to be incinerated by fellow muslims). And if I were some fat inbred Saudi princeling, a nuclear-armed Iran would make me look around for an ally in that region. An ally with nuke capability and a defense umbrella to shoot down incoming Iranian nukes. Now just what country in that neck of the woods has both the Bomb and a nuclear missile defense shield??
