I hate to point out the obvious, but a letter-writing campaign is an exchange of ideas. That is one of the fundamental ways of doing politics in America. The Left does letter writing campaigns all the time. What is your criticism of them?

Ideas can be a dangerous thing when the people who boliviate on about them wish to see America fall at the hands of its enemies, and they have the power/platfrom to put those dangerous ideas into action.

There’s a reason that the fine men and women of our military overwhelmingly support the President and show nothing but contempt and disdain for Kerry, Dean, Murtha, Pelosi, and their ilk.

Say you “support the troops” ’till you’re blue in the face, but when the troops think you’re a piece of shit — well, you’re a piece of shit.

What kind of doublespeak claptrap is this? Do you mean to equate the virtue of letting people state positions with the wretchedness of letting these positions go unchallenged?

“People who speak against me are my enemies and must be defeated” is hardly what I’d call an intelligent challenge to their position, my friend. That’s intolerance of dissent – saying that simply because people have dissenting ideas, they must be stopped and defeated and whatever else you do to enemies. Challenge positions all you want, but don’t “declare war” on them.
