Why do so many Left-wingers think that President Bush broke the law (which he didn’t) by putting wire taps on known al Qaeda calls from and to the United States?

Mostly because they want to believe it — they want it to be true. But also in large part because of the biased media, which is telling its readers and insinuating that President Bush broke the law. Like today’s front page of the worst newspaper in America, the Austin American Statesman, which has the following misleading and completely false headline:

Statesman lies

Justice Department investigates possibility of illegal domestic spying

When I read that headline, it sure sounds like the Justice Department is investigating the illegality of the President’s domestic spying program. If you read that any other way, you probably didn’t do too well on the Reading Comprehension section of the SATs.

But if you click on the headline, the headline above the full story changes to the more accurate:

Justice Dept. Probes Domestic Spying Leak

So, the Justice Department isn’t investigating the President nor the wire taps. They’re investigating the MSM’s illegal leaks of the domestic spying program. It’s not a subtle difference.

Ed Morrisey at Captain’s Quarters has another MSM bias story — this one about the “rendition” policy of sending captured terrorists to their nations of origin for questioning. The Media bias in this story? That not a single MSM source has written about the origins of this policy (hint: his wife wants to be President in 2008).

  2. you should stop watching so much television. it makes people stupid.

  3. I am really amused by the people who cry outrage at domestic “spying”. Quit cheating on your taxes…lol…and you have nothing to fear.
