The NY Transit Strike

I don’t live in NY, and am thus unaffected by the strike. But it’s just another reason to validate my contempt for unions in this country.

This blog’s opinion on the current strike: Fire them all, jail their leaders, and then hire workers who want to work at a fair wage commensurate with the job and its associated duties and relevant skills sets.

  1. hire workers who want to work at a fair wage commensurate with the job and its associated duties and relevant skills sets.

The same could be said about the management- corrupt and incompetent cronies of George Pataki.

Not only was it discovered that they operate with two sets of ‘books’ they also sprung a deal-breaking provision at the 11th hour of negotiations.

I think it was foolish for the TWU to strike- particularly at Christmas- but the MTA is equally responsible for the shut down.
