Flutie kickDoug Flutie might have just played in his final NFL game today in a mostly-meaningless loss to the Miami Dolphins.

At the end of the game, Flutie lined up in the shotgun formation in what looked like a 2-point conversion attempt after the touchdown. Instead Flutie drop-kicked the ball for a 1-point conversion.

I’ve watched thousands of football games in my life, and I have never seen a drop-kick extra point (or a drop-kicked field goal, for that matter). As it turns out, it was the first drop-kicked extra point in the NFL since Ray McLean kicked one for Chicago on December 12, 1941.

What a cool way to end your career…

How great is that?!! I have always liked Flutie…he’s never really done anything other than do his job and never complains!
