Democrats Out of Step with Rest of Country

This snippet from a NY Times story on President Bush and his SCOTUS appointees caught my attention:

In interviews, Democrats said that the lesson of the Alito hearings was that this White House could put on the bench almost any qualified candidate, even one whom Democrats consider to be ideologically out of step with the country.

Samual Alito couldn’t be more ideologically in step with the majority of this country. And the Democrats failure to see that — along with their inability to understand that it is them and their Liberal agenda that is ideologically out of step with the majority of this country — is costing them elections.

He’s out of step on Roe v. Wade.

Samual Alito couldn’t be more ideologically in step with the majority of this country.

You really think this is true? Alito is likely the to be the second or third most ‘conservative’ on a court that is 7/9 appointed by Republicans.

Well, all the Sunday talk shows uniformly lambasted the democrats on the Alito Hearing. Fact is, the old democrat party is gone and the public knows it. It’s run by (paid for by) George Soros, by NARAL, by .. you know the extremist left wing list. I know my dad would be so disgusted, he would not vote, period, and he was a life time democrat. However, not to say everyone is thrilled with the Republican party. Let’s see who shapes up first.

What is your specific gripe against George Soros (other than the fact that he has supported the Democratic Party?)

He has put about 4 billion dollars into promoting democracy in former communist countries and promoting governmental transparency worldwide. Your support for the war in Iraq as a democratizing action would seem to put you in alignment with such issues.
