This snippet from a NY Times story on President Bush and his SCOTUS appointees caught my attention:
In interviews, Democrats said that the lesson of the Alito hearings was that this White House could put on the bench almost any qualified candidate, even one whom Democrats consider to be ideologically out of step with the country.
Samual Alito couldn’t be more ideologically in step with the majority of this country. And the Democrats failure to see that — along with their inability to understand that it is them and their Liberal agenda that is ideologically out of step with the majority of this country — is costing them elections.
