Which makes him a punk-ass bitch
From Bryan Preston at the JunkyardBlog:
Comic book legend Stan Lee wants to turn ‘Melo [Denver Nuggests basketball player Carmelo Anthony] into a crimefighting superhero. The problem with that is ‘Melo tends to side with the criminals.
And that is a problem, unless you’re trying to sell basketball shoes — shoes that kids will literally kill for. Then being a street thug like ‘Melo is a big plus.
Bryan concludes:
This whole story just sums up why I lost all interest in the NBA years ago. It’s all about the bling and street cred, and while NBA stars like Anthony may wish they weren’t role models, they are. Bad ones.
Go read the whole story for more information on ‘Melo’s anti-snitch endorsement.

The last time I cared about the NBA was when Clyde the Glide and Hakeem the Dream played for the Houston Rockets. If the entire league folded up and went the way of the *NHL, I doubt I’d even notice (but I would care…because it would be a net positive for society).
I’m a confirmed sports-fanatic. I’ve watched more hours of ESPN than I have spent hours sleeping in my lifetime. But the glorification and perpetuation of the dope-smoking gangster lifestyle is just too much for me to put up with anymore. The league doesn’t even have a drug policy. Why not? Because everybody in the NBA is high. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if David Stern was high right now. And it’s only 7:00 a.m.
And it’s not just an image of thugery in the NBA, either. Did you watch the Pacers vs. Pistons game last year when half the Pacers team went into the stands and started attacking the fans?
*I was just informed that the NHL resumed playing games. I’m still not watching.

And to think that I liked Melo in the beginning is really sad. I liked him even more when they compared his style of game to that of Lebron James. An article by msn.com portrayed James as a whiner because of his selfishness. By now, like you, I have lost interest in the NBA.
“And it’s not just an image of thugery in the NBA, either.”
I assume based on the standards that you apply to the NBA, you don’t watch the NFL, do you? As opposed to the NBA, the NFL has such past, present and future players as:
Ray Carruth-convicted of murder
Ray Lewis-charged with murder, but acquitted
Jim Brown-Hall of Famer charged several times with domestic abuse
Ricky Williams-Retired for a year to smoke pot
Michael Irvin-multiple drug and firearms violations
Potential future players such as Maurice Claurett and Michael Vick’s younger brother Marcus, who was dismissed from his team. The only question of whether or not an NFL team takes either of these two players is not based on their behavior, but whether or not they are good enough.
General a-holes like Terrell Owens, Bill Romanowski, Randy Moss, Ryan Leaf, etc. I could go on.
Whiners who refuse to play for team that drafted them like Eli Manning, and oh yeah, Hall of Famer John Elway.
Not to mention the multitudes of players with drunk driving or marijuana possession charges.
But hey, this stuff only happens in the NBA. Compared to these people Carmelo and Lebron are practically saints.
But, by all means, go back to condemning basketball while you watch your football games.
hey carmelo
u look good can u come see me one day
Its not only in the NBA or any type of sport where this stuff happens just look you even got crooked cops, and atlhetes are young men that now of days they get so much publicity its just crazy so every body shouldn’t get on them so much we all make mistakes but when you a pro althere everyone in the world knows about. Then when you a construction worker in a drug ring it gets no pulblicity, so please leave him alone and see how he is five years from all the bad news, then maybe you can judge him.
