Hat tip to Mark Noonan at Blogs for Bush for alerting us to this interesting eBay auction:

Sheehan on eBay

Unlike here and here, where Cindy cashed in on her son’s death and lined her own pockets, this time Cindy Sheehan is donating the proceeds to a non-profit “charity“.

When I hear the words charity, I think of organizations like the Salvation Army, the American Red Cross, and Soldier’s Angles. However, Cindy’s “charity” of choice is a gathering of Kossacks in Las Vegas.

Good job, Cindy. Don’t worry about cancer research, the still-recovering victims of Hurricane Katrina, or helping to house families with loved ones recuperating in military hospitals — you just focus on making sure a bunch of barking moonbats can get together and roll some dice this year.

Of all the worthwhile charities out there, you picked the DailyKos (lets not kid ourselves in anyway here…the DailyKos and YearlyKos are one and the same)? Way to go Cindy. Why would I not be surprised to learn that Cindy will be speaking at the YearlyKos weekend of gambling and debauchery charity weekend. I’d be even less surprised if she receives a speaking fee of exactly the amount of the winning eBay auction.

When I first saw the auction, my initial reaction was, “wouldn’t it be great if a conservative group won the auction, and had Cindy travel to Mosul to speak to a group (like this one) of soldier who are re-enlisting while their in Iraq (which is not so different from her own son, Casey, who re-enlisted to go back to Iraq)?”

But wise Cindy has thought of that, too. The auction states that, “You are bidding on a speaking engagement with Cindy Sheehan. Cindy will come speak to a group of your choice (within the continental US)*“.

What’s the asterik for?

* Note: Because of the obvious potential for right-wing shenanigans, Cindy retains the right to refuse to speak to groups antithetical to her cause or offensive to her beliefs.

Well, I guess that would eleminate her from traveling to Ft. Hood, Ft. Stewart, Ft. Cambell, or any other Military installation and speaking to the Soldier who are stationed there. Maybe we can arrange for Cindy to travel to Gitmo Bay, where she can speak to the “Freedom Fighters” (as she likes to call them — the rest of us in the sane world call them terrorists) — it seems like their ethics and beliefs would align nicely.

Of course it is you not her that uses the word ‘charity’.

There is no attempt to deceive bidders- she explicitly indicates where the money will go. She does still have the right to spend money as she wishes, right?

Preston — you’re right about the use of the word “charity”. When I first read the Sheehan for Sale ad on eBay, I mentally added the term “charity” to “non-profit”.

When I think of non-profits, I generally think of charities.

Regardless of my mistake of words, I still think that if Cindy’s going to whore herself out, there are many, many, many more worth “non profits” for her to donate the money to.

And you asked:

She does still have the right to spend money as she wishes, right?

Well of course she does. And I maintain my right to criticize her for it.

I’d draw a cartoon illustrating my disdain of Cindy, but I’m worried that al Qaeda would boycott my blog and issue a fatwa against me for my graphical depiction of one of their revered heros.

I’ve got her on my ebay watch list. Noticed that all but one, possibly two of the bidders are simply goofing around..no feedback, etc., not real bidders. Well stranger things have happened.

Anybody want to bid on my house? Nice 3 bed, 3 bath, only 6 years old and I’ll even speak for free!

Well gang, Ebay removed the auction..lol Guess she’s gonna have to go on Overstock.com.

lol

Well, it was fun while it lasted.

Got something you want to say?
