The MSM’s meltdown continued last night when Jack Cafferty from CNN whined about Cheney’s decision to grant FOX News an exclusive interview regarding his hunting accident.

More accurately, Mr. Cafferty feels slighted because Vice President Cheney didn’t select his news organization.

Mr. Cafferty, ever-the-professional journalist, referred to FOX News as the F-word network.

Well, in the lexicon of foul language, most would consider the C-word to be infinitely more vulgar than the F-word. Perhaps we should all start referring to your network as the C-word Network. I’m sure your bosses must be proud of you today.

I can’t think of another profession (other than politics), where publicly referring to your competitor with filthy and vulgar language and references is acceptable or wouldn’t result in your immediate termination. It’s part of professional ethics, which seem to be eroding before our very eyes in the MSM.

Don’t believe me? Next time you’re trying to win a bid or submitting a business proposal, refer to your competitor for the job by using the F-word in your submission.

Why is this acceptable behavior at the C-word Network?

OTHERS:

  • TD at The Right Track asks, “The F-word network? Jealousy and elitism look terrible together, don’t they?”
  • Penraker adds bets that the C doesn’t stand for “Classy News Network”. And thinks that CNN might now more aptly mean: Calling other Networks Names .
  • Jim Cannon at Thinking Right thinks the word of the day should be bitter. As in, “Jack Cafferty is a bitter has been”.
  • A rational Democrat, Scottage from Perspectives of a Nomad, chides fellow democrats:

People, let’s keep our eye on the ball. Today, the coastguard seized $66M in cocaine, a death squad was arrested in Iraq, and Neil Entwistle was extradited to Massachusetts. 40,000 Pakistanis marched protested the Mohammad cartoons, and Hamas nominated an outspoken moderate, Ismail Haniyeh, as the next Prime Minister of Palestine. Russia issued a stern warning against an air strike in Iran, and scientists issued an urgent alarm after multiple glaciers breaking up of the coast of Iceland…

…This is not some sort of a tragedy or conspiracy, it is an accident, and does not representative [sic] of Cheney’s motives or agenda. Let’s stop turning this into a federal case, and start focusing on the real issues that are facing the world today. This non-story is occupying way too much of the country’s attention.

Thanks for the link. Did you see Sid B’s latest trash at Der Speigel?

No excuse for this foul language in my book; however, as soon as I saw Cheney was giving the story to Fox, I thought it was a mistake for the obvious reason that the liberals will cry foul. He should have given a press conference. I think Cheney and his advisors made a mistake on this whole thing by not letting the admin break the story. However, I think the press has gone a bit nuts over a relatively minor thing but it all could have been avoided in the first place…sheesh…

Does this really upset you?

Disgusts me more than upsets me — disgusts me that our MSM has devolved into this. Disgusted that professional integrity and decorum means nothing today in the media.

Do you think it’s acceptable for a professional journalist to refer publicly to his competitor in vulgar terms?

Do you think this is acceptable in any profession? I might be a vulgar son of a bitch on my own personal blog and in the comfort of my own home, but you’d think I was a choir boy at work.

Look, I don’t particularly like that guy but doesn’t this seem like a rather harmless play on words to you- a take off on the notion that you’re not supposed to name your competitors: do you remember GHWB’s focus on the “L-Word”?

It makes me tired trying to defend something so inconsequential.

It makes me tired trying to defend something so inconsequential.

That’s how I feel about the Cheney hunting accident.

Got something you want to say?
