Yesterday, CNN’s Jack Cafferty went on another rant, ending with the following question about fighting terrorism here on American soil:
Since 9/11, the priority number one has been to protect this country from another terrorist attack. President Bush rode our fear of that very thing to a second term in office. The War in Iraq is advertised as part of the War on Terror. A half a trillion dollars and 2300 dead Americans soldiers, so that we can quote “fight them over there so we don’t have to fight them over here”. But what about over here?
Well, Mr. Cafferty, you only had to wait one day for your answer:
Three Ohio Men Charged in Plan to Attack U.S. Military in Iraq
And lest you or Mr. Cafferty think this the first or an isolated incident, Randy at Rightwinged remembers these other cases off the top of his head:
I had even forgotten about the Lodi “suspected” terrorists until I heard last week that the trial was beginning for one of them. Anyone remember the Lackawana/Buffalo Six? How about the guys who were plotting to bomb a NY City subway station? Update here. What about these NY City terror suspects. There are updates in the news on most of these guys if you are looking, but don’t expect them to be headlines in your paper or on TV.
I hear crow is a dish best served warm, Mr. Cafferty.

I applaude these indictments, but I wouldn’t want to be in the informant’s shoes. The article gives enough details for anyone associated with these nutballs to figure out who dropped the dime on them.
I hope he’s in witness protection.
