The first episode of the final season of The Sopranos ended on Sunday with Tony Soprano accidently gut shot by Junior Soprano.

I mentioned to my wife that he’ll be OK, after all, it’s the first show of the final season, and they can’t off the main character with the rest of the season to go.

The next day, after thinking on it, my wife has a gut feeling about how The Sopranos will end…

My wife thinks that the episode we watched last night was the final episode of The Sopranos — and that Tony does die at the hands of Uncle Junior. She thinks that the remainder of the season will be a lead up to the finale, where Tony gets shot.

A lot happened during the first episode, and most of it bears further explaining — which is what we think the rest of the season will focus on: Who was Ray Curto, and how much did he tell the Feds before he died? How did the Feds get to Eugene Pontecorvo? When did AJ become a linebacker at Ohio State University? How is Meadow’s new job as a stripper working out for her?

One Response to “Is This How “The Sopranos” Ends?”

Your wife is correct. The rest of the session is a flashback. Unless HBO can give James Gandolfini something he wants enough to work another year then Tony will die on the kitchen floor.
