Kelli Kennedy of the Associated Press is reporting on Debra Lafave:
ORLANDO, Fla. — State prosecutors decided Tuesday to drop charges against a former Tampa teacher accused of having sex with a 14-year-old middle school student.
Did you hear that? That was the sound of Double-Standard hitting the floor with a dull thud.
Would we let a grown man — a teacher, no less — who raped and molested a 14 year old girl walk because the young girl was scared of testifying? No. You find a a way to protect the child. You find a way to build a strong enough case without needing the child’s testimony, if necessary. But you don’t let the predator go.
Any man who would have Lafave now is either a pathetic excuse for a man or a desparate loser. Probably both.

Not so easy with a male victim. It’s not like you are going to have medical evidence of a boy having vaginal sex with a woman that can be introduced at trial.
