This is going to have the Left all up in a huff today:

A panel of former Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court judges yesterday told members of the Senate Judiciary Committee that President Bush did not act illegally when he created by executive order a wiretapping program conducted by the National Security Agency (NSA).

Looks like just the opposite of what the NY Times has been falsly reporting (no surprise there).

Lets see how fast the Left falls over themselves trying to discredit and spin this report. Because, dammit, “we’ve got to impeach Bush, and this was our ticket.”

It’s sad really, that the Left will be upset and fight the fact that our President acted in our Nations best interest — and did so completely within the bound of his Constitutional authority — rather than be thankful that this is the case. Very sad, indeed.

UPDATE: Yep, the moronic moonbats have already started: FISA Judges doubt Bush had authority for domestic wiretapping

No, idiot, they didn’t say any such thing.

  1. I would think anyone with half a brain would not paraphrase a judge as Joe at America Blog has done.

  2. “The five judges testifying before the committee said they could not speak specifically to the NSA listening program without being briefed on it, but that a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act does not override the president’s constitutional authority to spy on suspected international agents under executive order. ” You quote the Moonie Times selectively.

  3. Did you read the piece? It doesn’t say what you make it out to. And this is a partisan newspaper…

The strongest quote in support of the warrentless wiretapping is this:
“If a court refuses a FISA application and there is not sufficient time for the president to go to the court of review, the president can under executive order act unilaterally, which he is doing now,”

    I AGREE! And it’s beside the point…

He is not going to the FISA courts at all!

  4. Only “moronic moonbats” pay attention to the facts, Preston.
