Today marks the 2 year anniversary of the death of Tina Priest. I have not forgotten. I will be eternally grateful for the sacrifice she made so that I might live free.

I wanted to say a big thank you to the Patriot Guard Riders. I'm Tina's aunt. Thru this difficult time, it was nice to know that people out there still believe in good values and helping out your neighbor. I was also very touch, when Smithville had their annual spring carnival. The Patriot Guard Riders were in the parade. When they pasted our family, they took the time to ask how we were doing. Thank you again and keep up the great work. It really does mean a lot to the families and friends of our brave soldiers.

I wanted to take a moment & offer my sincere thanks to all of the Patriot Guard Riders who were in Smithville for my niece's funeral service. I was one of those who upon emerging from the church was
awestruck & moved to tears by the sight of the Guard standing at attention outside the church...flags whipping in the wind...the moment is forever imprinted upon my brain...the sky was never bluer..the sun never brighter..even though I was grieving for the loss of my niece I was at the same time proud of her, proud of my country & proud to be an American...God Bless the Patriot Riders...God Bless the servicemen & women who protect the libertoes we too often take for granted here at home & God Bless America.

[...] It’s much too soon since the funeral of 20-year old PFC Tina Priest — but once again the Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to help honor another young Texas Soldier. [...]

Remember how I posted about the Patriot Guard Riders a while back? Robbie at UrbanGrounds just rode on his first Patriot Guard mission, and he’s got the report here.

I wasn’t prepared for the impact that being part of this mission ...

Great job Riders! When my father passed away, I was only a year old and he had a full military funeral. I have the pictures and I have the stories, but nothing could beat being there for that honor. For the record, my father fought in WWII and the Korean War and retired a major (Army). The work our soldiers do should always be honored in the way you and many others did for this brave PFC!

Wow Robbie...you brought tears to my eyes.

When my husband died, I had a civil war reenactors tribute. He was carried to his grave in his reenactor's uniform, with members of his little group carrying him, and ladies dressed in long, black dresses of a goneby era surrounded him on a snowdriven, bitter day... I wondered if he was alive..would he be proud? I think he would have.

And, as would PFC Priest that day you honored her.
