I agree with Booman that the data presented in the Times story is alarming, and its a problem that needs to be discussed and solutions found…but decriminalizing their criminal behavior is not the answer.

Yale: Teaching Kids NOT to Think

Any child of mine will be strongly encouraged to join the US Military right out of High School as a means to prepare for and pay for college. Any child of mine will also be strongly discouraged from applying to Yale. Although, growing up in a Pro-military family would probably be all the discouragment from applying to Yale that any student would need.

Richard Belzar Knows More About War than the Soldiers

Ironically, Belzer is less educated than the average soldier. Belzer was kicked out of every school he ever attended, including Dean Junior College.
