How ironic that the House Minority Whip is also in the very small minority (as in the ONLY one) of House Democrats who side with the Capitol Police (the very men and women who risk their lives every day they come to work for those same thankless House Democrats) in their conflict with Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D — GA):
House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD), 4/4/06: [E]very one of us who visits the Capitol or any of the office buildings…have a responsibility to fully cooperate with every member of the Capitol Police…They are doing their jobs. We need to help them.
Ben Johnson at FrontPageMag has one of the best and most comprehensive takes on the reprehensible Rep. Cynthia McKinney (and other Lefties who attack Cops and then play the victim card):
Although the Capitol Police ruled the “officers acted in a manner consistent with the rules of decorum enforced by the Department in the House Gallery for years,†the police rushed to apologize to her. Sheehan accepted with characteristic grace and refinement, calling it “the biggest crock of horse manure ever.â€
Thus, a far-Left spokeswoman who nearly disrupted “America’s speech†on national television received an apology for her troubles.
Perhaps emboldened by how quickly the police caved in even though they were in the right, last Wednesday the equally left-wing McKinney reportedly slapped a policeman in the chest with a cell phone. Witnesses say when she walked around a Capitol security barrier, the policeman called to her to stop three times, then placed his hand on her arm to get her attention. McKinney ignored his calls, then struck him in the chest, according to most with a cellular phone.

I recently wrote the following about the plight of America’s black men:
You know, take some of the responsibility for their own moral failings, rather than perpetuating the “victim†excuse.
This malady is obviously not just isolated to young inner-city black men, but it’s obviously just as endemic in upper-crust, affluent Washington DC black women.
Rep. McKinney should not only be ashamed, but her colleagues should be vocally and morally outraged. But more than that, Rep. McKinney should be in jail for assaulting a police officer who was doing his job. Hopefully that will happen very, very soon.

Stupid yes, crazy, maybe, morally bankrupt - not quite. She’s got the arrogance of a white male and the sensitivity of a black female - not a healthy combination in a self-important congresswoman. It’s fun to watch how twisted the right-wing panties are getting over this little incident, though.
