Playing off a meme from Rant Fever (via Kim du Toit, via Tim Worstall), but using today’s date rather than my own birthdate:

Go to Wikipedia, look up your birthday today’s date (without the year), and post three events, two births and one death (including the year they ocurred)

Events:

  • 1906 - An earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 7.9, destroys much of San Francisco, California.
  • 1923 - Yankee Stadium, “The House that Ruth Built”, opens.
  • 1983 - A suicide bomber destroys the United States embassy in Beirut, Lebanon, killing 63 people.

  • 1947 - James Woods, American actor and poker player
  • 1954 - Rick Moranis, Canadian comedian

Deaths:

  • 1955 - Albert Einstein, German-born Jewish physicist, Nobel Prize laureate (b. 1879)
