An interesting read over at the Economist about blogs (ok…probably only interesting to those who do blog).

There are probably as many different definitions as to what a blog is as there are bloggers. But this basic definition from the Economist fits this blog pretty well:

Dave Winer, a software engineer who pioneered several blogging technologies, and who keeps what by his own estimate is the longest-running blog of all (dating back to 1997), has argued that the essence of blogginess is “the unedited voice of a single person”, preferably an amateur. Blogs, in other words, usually have a raw, unpolished authenticity and individuality.

Except, that thanks to each and every person who stops by and leaves a comment on a post — this blog has become the unedited voice of many (except in the rare cicumstance where I do edit or delete a comment).

Notes:

You have 10 minutes after you submit your comment to edit it. Simply click the E(dit) link above the countdown-counter at the bottom of your comment. You can only edit a comment from the same IP address from where the original comment was submitted.

If your comment does not appear immediately, it has been sent to the moderation queue for approval.

Your comment either contained more than 2 hyperlinks, or it used a word(s) that are on my Spam blacklist. Comments awaiting moderation will usually be approved within a day.

And, being that it's my blog and all...I reserve the right to delete any comment for any reason at any time.
