From Houston:

Hit-and-run kills pregnant teen outside strip club

An early morning hit-and-run accident killed a pregnant teenager in southwest Houston, according to a report this morning by KHOU-TV.

The incident happened in front of Playmates Cabaret at Bissonnet and the Southwest Freeway around 2 a.m.

A teen-mother. Killed. In front of a strip club.

This story was tragic before the teen-mother was even hit by the car.

  1. You know…you are really an idiot. I am assuming that your smart ass comment above was in critisism of the teen mother. You shouldn’t be allowed to comment on people unless you know them. I guess you are just perfect huh. I guess you never had sex when you were a teen or had a family member or friends that had sex that young. I guess you or anybody that you associate with have NEVER been inside a strip club. Your just the perfect little Robbie aren’t you? Jerk!!!

  2. A pregant 16-year old is tragic in-and-of itself. I don’t have to “know” her to understand that.

Odds are, that a 16-year old girl hanging around the parking lot of a strip bar at 2:00 a.m. probably has a rather tragic back story, too.

Now, combine those two stories: 16 year old girl is pregnant AND hanging out in the parking lot of a stip bar at 2:00 a.m., and you have a truly sad and tragic story.

What could make this story any more tragic? This 16 year old girl and her unborn baby were killed — as a direct result of the consequences of her tragic life choices.

Which part of this doesn’t seem “tragic” to you, 5?

I have been to strip clubs. I enjoy them. But I never went to them when I was a minor. And I have certainly never hung around in the parking lot (most likely soliciting, in this young girl’s instance) of a strip bar after hours, either.

I’m not sure how you’re coming to the conclusion that this teen mother is beyond criticism, either. She’s responsible for getting herself pregnant. She’s responsible for being at a strip bar at 2:00 a.m. Is she responsible for getting hit by a car? No. But she’ s definitely not beyond or above criticism for the other details of her life.

I shouldn’t be allowed to comment on people unless I know them? Well, sheese, that wouldn’t give me anything to write about. Or you to comment on (as you don’t know me from your own dick in the dirt)…or for countless journalists, columinsts, and authors to write about people they have never met.

Good thing we don’t take writing advice from complete ass-hats.

  3. before bump your gums, you should at least know the whole story… this was a close homegirl of mine… and she wasnt just aonther pregnant teen, she has shit going for herself… its not like she was always at the clubs, she went out every once in a while, that night was jus the wrong night….. and if you think its WRONG that she was pregnant thats fine, but you DONT know her, and you shouldnt judge her… but you should at least respect her memory!!!!

  4. Angie — I’m sorry for the loss of your friend. Especially one so young.

I don’t think there is anything “wrong” with a teen pregnancy, but rather find it unfortunate and oftentimes very sad.

I do find it wrong that a pregnant teen goes out the clubs ever. I find it wrong that the club that this particular teen mother had the misfortune to be hanging out at was a strip club.

The circumstances of her death might belie the girl that she was to those who knew her best. But the circumstances of her death — teen, pregnant, strip club, 2:00 a.m. — are definitely appropriate for judgement and scrutiny.
