I have decided to boycott Cinco de Mayo on Friday.
As part of my boycott, I will:
- Not dine at any Mexican restaurants. No enchiladas from Maudi’s. No margaritas from Chewy’s.
- Tell our house cleaners not to come to work this week. They will not be paid for the time that they miss.
- I will have a ceremonial and symbolic burning of the Mexican flag down at the lake — while drinking Budweiser beer and listening to Toby Keith and Hank Williams Jr.
- I’ll stage a protest in front of one of the local taquerias, where I’ll loudly blare the National Anthem — in English, of course — on loud speakers.
- I’ll make my own paper mache piñata that looks like Vicente Fox, and I’ll take it to the local LULAC office, hang it from a tree, and beat it until the it’s bounty of Chiclets® pour out through the Mexican President’s belly button.
- Write all of my local, state, and national representatives, and implore them to get tough on illegal immigration into our country.
ThirDEE at The Flithy Report plans to counter today’s boycotts:
To counter the boycott, I plan to do some shopping. I’ll get a cup of coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts-without having to order it four times.

Traffic didn’t seem appreciably lighter this morning on the way to work — I thought it might, seeing as how half the city is boycotting our Government for suggesting they might start to enforce our immigration laws.
Or course, seeing how 10-12 immigrants all pile into the back of one pickup truck to car pool to work each morning, I guess the effect on traffic would be negligible.

I hope that today’s boycott of American business includes our welfare offices, our hospitals and free clinics, our public schools, and all of our other American-citizen-paid-for public services. Hmmm…come to think of it, today would have been a good day to go down to the DMV to renew my car’s registration.
Today’s boycotts are being billed as A Day without Immigrants? Hell, can we make it a week? Or how about a month?

count me in on that…. I will have my own boycott in AZ.
