Blue Crab Boulevard wonders why the Democrats have stopped using the Culture of Corruption meme — could it be that more and more cases like this one come to light every day?

WASHINGTON, May 3 — A Kentucky technology executive pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges of bribing a member of Congress in an investigation that has centered on Representative William J. Jefferson, a Louisiana Democrat.

And how much did he bribe the good ol’ progressive Representative from the Bayou State? Mr. Jackson acknowledged that the amount was $367,500 over four years.

I’d say that’s pretty corrupt. But hey, it is Louisiana — down here, that’s just business as usual.

I don’t know that anyone has dropped the ‘culture of corruption’ theme- but anyone who is guilty should go.

Most progressives never felt like the Democratic leadership has ever ridden this issue. Unfortunately, ethics along with political redistricting is an issue in which elected Democrats go along with the Republicans to ensure that the real beneficiaries are the politicians.

Got something you want to say?
